I’m not the manager/head coach that deals with the players day in day out and as such I’ll defer to his objective assessment.

Btw there's always room for sentiment and loyalty it's what builds the fabric of a club.

Hammill hasn’t delivered on the pitch all season, Plobby.

But you've seen both play . So do you think Mahoney is better than Hammill ?

I’ve seen Mahoney play fleetingly at both Birmingham and Hull and couldn’t honestly give an opinion based on that given the state of both games.

He's been no worse than many others but has been totally bombed out .

The stage is set for a dramatic Hammill return in the last few games. Comes in from the wilderness, scores a few screamers, helps keep us up and walks of into the sunset.

I personally don’t think that’s the case at all. We’re playing a completely different system with a changed focus and intensity that doesn’t lead itself to Hammill being a starter. It’s not as though we’ve retained the old system and style of play yet sidelined Hammill.

I’m not a Hammill hater by the way, I’m just calling it as I see it, as I’m sure you are too.

It's obvious that he can't play in a 433 that goes for Isgrove too but let's say were losing 1-0 with ten minutes to go tonight, who would you turn to Mahoney or Hammill an experienced player who will run at tired defenders .

You’re picking an incredibly specific scenario but based on this season I’d pick Isgrove or Hedges to come on and attack the tired full back with pace.

I might have waited to reply to this when we're losing 1-0 with ten minutes to go . He just deserves to be cut some slack for his loyalty and performances over the last couple of seasons .
