I've heard some places are reasonably busy on Mon-Wed because of the discount, but pretty quiet over the weekend.
They won't know yet. This weekend will be a good measure of where we've got to, but it's a longer term play anyway. What I do know is that this government scheme is a really positive one and it's encouraging people to head out in to the trade for the first time. Some are even booking different places on different days so they can try out numerous places
Just been in Chilli, only a couple of tables left. Grille packed (they had to move a couple of tables into chilli) Turkish across from them also full, Istanbul looked pretty busy from the outside as did Estabulo and Favela. Stay the f*ck out of Leeds and Sheffield and support your own town.
It’ll deffo help with the eat out to help out scheme - It’s a great incentive to be honest. I also think Uber eats and Deliveroo have been positive for restaurants too! Fingers crossed the council manage to find occupants for the remaining restaurant units in the Glassworks. Barnsley is already so much better than it was for eating out.
Said the same, a lot of people wont have eaten in the town centre before, hopefully they will be heading back - its was developing nicely before the pandemic.
Ate out tonight. Ribeye steak, chips, onion rings, peppercorn sauce and a pint of Peroni which isn't part of the deal and the steak came to around £9. Can't complain with the deal at all. Rishi did good.
Rishi is giving you taxpayers money. It’s not his. Whether this is an effective use of our money is certainly open to debate. Pleased you enjoyed your steak though
I live in Wakefield but we tried to book in at Talbot for tomorrow but no luck so going into Wakefield city centre, good to see places getting back on their feet.
If you do get in at the Talbot, you’ll enjoy the oasis soup,,,,,I enjoy the fact that the cloakroom is easily accessible!
Went to Tandoiri Hut yesterday. Think it was a bit quieter than they were hoping for but for under £50 for five of us (including alcohol) was great.
