    ... so says my missus..

Number 1 ...The failing post Brexit trade 'deal'.

Number 2... The Covid mutation and subsequent UK lockdown into Europe

Number 3......?? Well my theory is.... You know that new bright light in the Sky...the one where we are told that it is Jupiter and Saturn that are "aligned".... Well, in reality it is actually two bloody great E.L.I.comet/asteroids converging and heading directly for us.;):(

    Happy Xmas!!

Why on earth would you think that. I’ve run out of ways I can think off for them to show their incompetence but the cabinet is far more inventive. It reminds me of the old saying you can’t make anything fool proof as fools are too ingenious at thinking of things no rational person would consider

There’s simply got to be a vote of no confidence. A UK research lab identified a variation of the coronavirus with multiple mutations. As research labs are doing all over the world. The virus no longer exists anywhere as it was when first identified in Wuhan. Anecdotal evidence suggested these mutations could make it more transmissible and that further research was urgently required. However, at present, that remains a theory until that research has been conducted. Our government announced to the world, a week before Brexit that is already causing huge disruption to international trade, that the new variant was 70% more transmissible without a single shred of scientific evidence. Unsurprisingly the world has shut their borders to us. We now face the very real prospect of food shortages due to a situation manufactured by our own government. This level of idiocy cannot be allowed to continue.

I said a long time ago there would be riots on the streets at Christmas and with every passing day I believe that prediction is more likely to happen. Londoners will be out demonstrating today and as Christmas gets closer and we run out of food and freedom there will be hell to pay.

This BS mutation that was communicated to stop them from getting destroyed about rising cases in Tier 2 areas has now well and truly come back to bite them in the Harris. By them, I mean us because of them.

The virus has already mutated well over a 1000 times, there’s nothing new to that. They said they found this strain in September, so it can’t be that much more transmissible because it hasn’t reached any tier 3 area and even if it was really such a big worry, France closing its borders 3 months after it was found when 70k lorries a week have been making the journey from UK to France for 3 months, is a little late.

If this mutation is so much more spreadable it would have been around the world by now.

This smoke and mirrors by this government is making the royalist or royal **** ups.

    Useless lying bastàrds.

I'm the last person to stand up for boris (I think he's an incompetent affable lying self centred idiot who shouldn't be anywhere near any position of authority) however ...
Do we not have a moral duty to inform our neighbours if we think we have identified a more virulent strain of covid ? Maybe we should have done it on the quiet, but I still think we have a duty of care.

We absolutely do. We have a moral duty to tell them the truth. We didn't, we made something up.

No the riots will start if Boris signs this country up to a Brexit deal in name only.

Genuine question. Are you saying they've totally made this up, or that they don't have all the facts yet? Cos if its the second I'm not sure we should be waiting for conclusive proof before saying something. Wouldn't it be too late by then?

They've done it now to strike fear into the nation just in time for Christmas, to 'justify' tier 4, people not seeing each other, and travel bans. Instead they've struck fear into the rest of Europe and now the lorries are snaking round Kent. It's like watching The Thick Of It but without the laughs.

I still cant believe we believe anything from this lot and sage.
4000 deaths per day, with graphs they refused to show where the research had come from an unwilligness to share their information with other professionals, so scientists cant challange these shocking decisions.
However our government see fit to virtually close the country, with no hard evidence.

to counter your argument they’ve obviously used an element of truth to expand and run with a lie. Why is it just us who have the mutation, why is no one else reporting it, if it’s so virulent why does it stop 2 miles away in Portsmouth but it hasn’t reached me yet in fareham where I’m 2 tiers lower.

Therefore they obviously don’t have all the facts yet, they didn’t have all the facts in September when they were telling us all to go out for our tea.

As I understand it (not a virologist)
From the % of cases of the new strain in September, if that % is tracked for over 2 months then that’ll give a good idea how much more virulent the new strain is.

Of course that’ll depend on how confident you are in the testing data.

The tiers aren’t bound to what strain of virus you have.
