    Is the make of tyre important - if make is important which is best/best avoided?

    Seconded with Black Circles. Id just go for a mid range. I dont think its worth the extra cash for Pirellis etc.

    Black Cirlces, as others have mentioned. Find a decent garage that will fit the ones you want, but give them a call before you book anything. Sometimes they'll fit them cheaper if you go direct.
