Seems the council's in Barnsley and Donny are asking folk if they want to be part of Sheffield or Yorkshire as a whole..
Yet the Tories seem to be dead set on their Sheffield city region... I wonder if it's something to do with the massive business deals Sheffield CC has with the Chinese ..

Democracy does not come cheap. Better chance of making something work if majority is in favour.

So as it stands the votes is

    1 an actual deal
2 a hypothetical deal with no details

Obviously it will be within reality or non of the 15 councils would have considered it .
This vote is to explore options not to jump into something that doesn't)won't exist.
Having only one option is not democracy.

If it's south Yorkshire Sheffield will Hoover everything.

If it's the whole of Yorkshire you then have Leeds and York and everything else.

Either way barnsley doncaster and rotherham who are not cities are screwed.

    Just like we are currently.

I don't see any way to win unless somehow we can tie in alsorts of rules and agreements.

Which as brexit is showing is rather tricky because everyone thinks of themselves and not the wider areas

I consider myself politically informed but I have absolutely no idea which way to vote in this. Referendums like this are a delegation of responsibilty by the people we elect to represent us.

Rather shouting that all the time show facts how it will cost more money.
Look how much we spend on the Westminster govt and how much just from the last budget the south was better off compared to the North.. 9 times the amount better off..

Look at Scotland .. free education for all.free prescriptions. Free nhs.free oap travel. Etc social services in Scotland are far better cos they aren't run by the Tories down south ..

no idea how he's a mp for Barnsley ..another southerner drafted in by bliarites

    ‘massive’
So does BMBC - Just got the devolution letter today and the covering letter by BMBC is hardly impartial. Reminding you that the government wants you be part of a Sheffield City Region, but ‘we believe’ the wider Yorkshire proposal is better for us.
So in other words, forget reading the information, it’s a Tory v Labour vote.

It's not as straightforward as that, In Doncaster , Labour, Conservative and all Independents were unanimous in their rejection of a Sheffield deal.

"Greater" and "Sheffield", two words I've never used in the same sentence before....
