bree on bench. De Laat now ahead of him at RB.

Lads development seriously going to be stunted unless he can get game time.

Villa are an excellent example of a club/manager buying loads of talent and throwing them together expecting them to all flourish 'cos they're good on paper. A bit like LMA Manager or other games. Hourihane shoud be at the fulcrum of a midfield, not used here and there hoping for the best. But when you have Whelan and Lansbury and Garner and Grealish and all the others... Bree on the other hand needs game time to develop further, but he is seemingly now back up in case a bigger name player gets injured. All well and good for the stockpiling club, less so for the individual player's development. However, if you're earning mega money, perhaps the footballing development side of your career matters much less. Not saying that's the case for these too, but it must be easier when on thousands and thousands of pounds a week. I hope both Bree and Hourihane reach the Premiership but I have a feeling both may need to go elsewhere to fully flourish.

Happened a lot with us, players in our team who look top class because we make everything go through them, stick them in a team with others who are used to the same thing at other clubs and it just doesn't work. Like when Lampard and Gerrard were in the England team at their peak, never really pulled any trees up in that team.
