Let England Shake by Polly Jean for its ethereal timelessness closely followed by Different Class which encapsulated a moment in time perfectly.

Out of the albums listed it has to be Suede or Pulp. Both very good albums.

"It didn't get much rest at first
The headboard banging in the night
    The neighbors didn't dare complain
    Oh, everything was going right
Now, there's no need to complain
'Cause it never makes a sound
    Something beautiful left town
And she doesn't even know its name"

    Bloody love Different Class

Couldn't pick one I'd even want to hear a single track from.

Surprised some of the visceral anger and noise of PJ Harvey doesn't appeal to you.

I've only ever heard one of her songs and after I knew it wasn't for me.

Every album is different. I think you might like some stuff off Rid of Me or Dry. Maybe not but give it a listen sometime other of her stuff you would definitely hate.

I'm pretty much 'meh' about that list although I haven't heard them all.

I think some of the stuff on Screamadelica is just filler and the mixes of the singles aren't as good as the actual singles. The Suede album was the biggest disappointment I think I've ever bought. After three Stella singles they released an album of ballads. I was 21 and full of piss and hormones, if I wanted to listen to a bunch of soppy ballads I would have bought a ******* Whitney Houston Album. M People winning was just funny. Portishead were for bankers who thought they were cool. I love Pulp but their albums never lived up to the strength of their singles. And although I do like Different Class, it's far from being one of my favourite albums. Roni Size instead of OK Computer? Alright then. Gomez had a couple of good songs, Whipping Piccadilly is fantastic, but the full album is just alright. I don't know who Talvin Singh is. Badly Drawn Boy is nice but dull. PJ Harvey I love, but thought her early albums were better than the two that won. After that I'm old and my opinion isn't worth ****.
