No but they may see footage of Hitler's speeches I do accept however that some footballers are as thick as **** and this may have passed them by.
Even if he was wagging school on the day they did learning stuff, it hardly seems credible that he has never in his life seen any film portraying events relating to WW2. There are literally dozens of them.
“So Ted, how long have you been a racist then? “ “What!! I’m not a racist Dougall.” “Oh hello Father. I understand you’ve become a racist now. How’s that going then.”
There are enough historical photos, documentaries and Hollywood films to make it nigh on impossible for anyone other than a cretin not to know what a Nazi salute looks like or for anyone other than a cretin to suggest the possibility.
https://readtheleague.com/the-big-feature/the-passionate-puritan-the-stan-cullis-story This is a good read.
again you've missed the point - what I'm saying is that because of its links to extremism teachers would be well advised not to mention/teach about the Nazi salute in schools and there may well be a generation of youngsters who don't know about this salute. is referring to someone as a cretin a personal insult against that person?
I'm not missing your point. You do not need guidance from teachers to encounter numerous demonstrations of the nazi salute in the news, media, casual exposure to history and in popular culture such as films. To suggest someone can reach the age of 32 without exposure to it is plainly ridiculous unless that person is, yes, virtually retarded. As for the insult part...interpret it how you want.
Surely education is the way forward. Pretending it didn’t happen is in my opinion ridiculous and would not allow informed thought to learn from the past. The school history curriculum includes ww2... how can you teach that without showing Hitler and a salute? Not teaching it in schools would also mean that this case could happen over again...
