I don't have any issues with fans who are concerned about the upcoming season, mate. Just because they have an alternative interpretation of how the club is conducting it's business to me, doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to voice it or they're wrong. They're just different, that's all. They are expressing their opinions, just like I am.

Every manager gets sacked eventually,it doesn't matter who they are.Im not saying Hecky isn't a good manager but they need a certain amount of luck as well.

Ohh exactly Lil, and I can assure you Im not having a go. This maybe comes down to fans own personalities as well doesnt it, some are glass half full and some (ok yes me included lol) are glass half empty!
And I was going to start a new thread about this actually ;)... about how expectation levels at certain clubs can be a good or a bad thing even before a ball has been kicked.

I don't know when Patrick Cryne made the statement about not investing any money from
transfers in new signings, but there was an article in the Chronicle on 11th November 2016 saying
he wanted to make the Club self- sustainable so it could be handed over to the fans in around two
    years.

If that proves to be the case, it could present a great opportunity for fans to invest their hard earned brass to
bring to fruition some of the thoughts/ plans that have been raised/discussed in the recent past.

I honestly don't believe he's been lucky whilst being in charge. If anything, he's had to deal with a great deal of bad luck beyond his control. He's had to deal with losing not one, but two CEO's in just a few months. He had the Tommy Wright issue thrust upon him. The owner was stricken with incurable cancer. Having to deal with losing quality players like Mawson, Winnall, Bree, Hourihane & Roberts within twelve months. The death of Mr Barnsley Norman Rimmington badly affected everyone connected with the club. For me, just no longer having to deal with bad luck will be a huge improvement for Hecky.
Despite everything, whilst being in charge, he's won promotion, a trophy (meaning two successful Wembley visits) and guided the club to it's highest league finish since we lost to Ipswich in the 2000 Play Off Final. I wonder how well he'd do if he was fortunate to get some good luck?

Well again that's not totally true. We lost a lot of the promotion side immediately and made 14 first team signings last summer

Well last year it was only Hammill, Aidy White and Ryan Williams

You might prove to be right, but many people thought Winnall would struggle to score in the Championship and look how wrong that proved to be. Fans were just more reluctant to find potential faults because we'd just been promoted

We'll finish 12th so I don't get the negativity. We're going to finish higher than we did last season and if we'd kept the 3 in January we'd still only have finished 11th.
This is all fact, get on with it

Could it be argued that even though some didn't play first team football some of the new intake are coming
from a higher level than the 2015/16 promotion team.?

McCarthy was for three seasons a Premiership player but he played 80 plus on loan at Wycombe and Walsall.
Fryers was with Man Utd, Standard Liege, Spurs and Palace and played for England at U16,17 and 19 level.

Ugbo was a regular in the Chelsea U23's and has also played at U17&20 level for England.
Although Isgrove was loaned out , he too was registered for 5 seasons with Southampton as well as representing
Wales at U21 and Full international level.

McGeehan was for 2 years a Junior with Fulham had 6 years at Chelsea and 2 years with Norwich City and
has played for Northern Ireland at U17,19 & 21 level.

Could it be reasonable to assume that playing in the Scottish Premiership is on a par with the teams in the lower
reaches of the Championship.? If so Liam Lindsey and Stevie Mallan have both played in that league and the latter has
also played at U21 level for Scotland.

That leaves one unknown quantity re- Ethan Pinnock who was in the Forest Green team that gained promotion to
    the EFL last season.

Of our play off team who started against Millwall only Davies, Isgrove and Hammill are now with the Club.

Mawson ( Swansea) and Fletcher (West Ham) have gone up a League whilst Scowen ( Wycombe) Roberts (Halifax) ,
Brownhill ( Preston), Hourihane ( Plymouth), Winnowt ( Scunny) and Watkins ( Cally Thistle) have gone sideways
to other teams in our league.?

Of the remainder Williams has stepped down a League and White ( Sub) has been released.

Pedigree wise and purely from a basic skill " starting" perspective could an arguement therefore be advanced that the
new intake are at least on a par or slightly better than their counterparts.?

The Scottish Premier is on a par with League 2 at best. That is not to say Liam Lindsey won't be any good of course

I'd say pedigree wise our recruits are pretty much exactly the same standard as last year. Of which 2 were undoubted successes, Kent in and out, and the rest varying degrees of failure. They were coming into a confident winning side not a losing one. I think the signings are good we just have no spine to blend them into.
