Why? The US political system is designed to make it very difficult for any President to actually make much difference, with the Senate and House of Representatives normally acting as a blocker of any serious reforms. On the face of it, Trump has no such problems since both have a majority of Republicans, however, these are no ordinary times and most of the Republican party hate Trump so he'll still face lots of opposition preventing him form building walls and deporting Muslims. On the other hand, the US has always really been governed by Business and Trump is a businessman so maybe he will make a difference. Unfortunately for the world, any difference he makes will be negative (Global Warming, NATO foreign aid, TTIP etc).
I started early, (about 5am, to be precise), after last night's fish & chickpea curry. More wholesome things emerged from my orifice than will be aired today in Washington DC I fear.
