Not seen it posted but England have to play a match behind closed doors after not controlling the thugs for the Euro 2020/1 final https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58418701
What a load of rubbish. So those of us who travel all around Europe to be able to buy those final tickets legitimately are punished because some idiots think they can just get what they want for free? I think that’s crap myself. We’ve got the same treatment (some cases worse) as those countries that don’t even hide how racist they are.
Might as well play the game at a non league ground somewhere rather than rattling around in a 90,000 capacity with nobody in the stands.
I think this is deserved purely for the racist bile that immediately followed the penalty misses. How the faux unity of a nation mightily crumbled when three black lads missed a penalty for England. Our fellow England 'supporters' disgraced us, a one match ban of supporters is nothing, and it doesn't even recognise the racist element. And as an aside, just because some countries proudly display their racism in plain sight doesn't make us better for quietly brushing ours under the carpet.
Got into King's Cross at 6pm on Saturday. Numerous groups of football fans harrassing women, trying to pick fights and singing racist songs mainly about Sadiq Kahn being a terrorist. Of course every country has scumbags, but you'd be hard pressed to find one with so many as England, the number must be in the millions. The scenes at the final were appalling and a ban is fully deserved. It's sooo depressing that crowd trouble seems to be prevalent at every international game these days. International football seems to bring out the very worst type of nationalism.
Wembley deserves this after our game against Millwall. The lack of security, action and segregation was appalling that day. No surprise for me what happened in the Euro Final….
Aye because there's no other difference between Wembley and a non-league ground other than the number of seats.
However it’s dressed up this is deserved. The FA when putting these things on are responsible to make sure things are in place to ensure the safety of the general public and fans. They failed miserably in this aspect. This doesn’t excuse the actions of the ‘fans’ on the day who embarrassed us on what should have been a day of celebration and a party atmosphere. Fecking gutted as gonna miss my first competitive home game for years.
Hello again sweetie. When a non league side have an FA Cup game on TV they cope with media, need for camera etc so I am sure England could.
Never mentioned TV cameras. Can’t personally say I fancy watching an England home game played on a pitch that could be classified as a hill with weeds growing out of it. I don’t suspect the players will particularly enjoy playing in a stadium with significantly less facilities either. I reckon far less sponsors would be interested in having their name pitch-side at athersley rec than Wembley too.
