    But facing competition from Ispwich.

Source, someone who spoke to someone who spoke to someone who works at the club. Tenuous I know. But no reason for it not to be true.

Not worth stretching the boat out for. If the cost is reasonable then yes go for it but wouldn't be too disappointed if we missed out on him tbh.

If us and Ipswich were offering the same amount, you'd think he'd want to come here after his previous spell with us and the fact we just signed a Southampton player. But I'm guessing Ipswich will offer more than us.

I think he'd be a good squad player. Doesn't get involved in as many goals and assists as he probably should do for a winger but he works hard in front of our full back and offers protection for them.

Available on a free. Grateful for his input last time.
But should we be aiming to be bringing in better players this time round.?

I'd have him back in an instant. An untameable energy that rubs off on team mates.
Perhaps Jason McCarthy can fetch him up when he nips back down Southampton at the weekend to collect his pet hamster and surf board.

He'd be a good signing in my humble opinion.

I heard the same. Though if it comes down to a straight money fight we will lose.

Puel has just been sacked... can't see anything happening now.

Maybe Macca was the last straw??

Don't think that'll make a difference. I thought Isgrove was no longer a Southampton player as he was released at the end of the season?

Thats a strange one - if only getting to 8th in the premier league and only one wembley final is a sackable offence for the manager of the likes of Southampton I dont know why anyone bothers giving a manager a contact of longer than one season. I thought that was a decent season for them.

Back on topic I'd be happy to have Isgrove back though wont be devastated if we miss out

They aren't happy with his playstyle. very negative. Also 6 points off relegation and 15 points from getting 7th so it isn't as good as it looks.

    6 points off relegation?

No they weren't. Hull got 34 points and were third bottom, Southampton got 46.

Beating relegation by twelve points and a major cup final they were unfortunate not to win, when they sell the family silver every year? Not good enough. Get him sacked. Shite.

Because Southampton, in the third tier as recently as six years ago, should obviously be competing for Champions League qualification...

    Absolute madness.

To be fair they finished sixth the year before. To lose two places was poor, especially given Leicester dropped down the league meaning three sides who finished below them finished above them this year.

Who, pray tell? Chelsea, the champions. Liverpool, who signed their best player Mane in the summer. And Everton, who took their manager...

Whatever they are on at Southampton they want to be careful, just down the road in Portsmouth there is an example of what can happen to a relatively successful premier league team if it gets ideas beyond its station.

It was 17th, didn't realise mistakes weren't allowed anymore :) (Which they were 6 points off btw)

Bit touchy my old love! Yes I pointed out your error but only to contextualise, the post in whole is a pop at Southampton football club for being big time Charlie's, not you.
