RE: My grandad lived one Bartholomew Street

My Grandad used to have a Cobblers shop in an old shed down Bartholomew Street. He used to make clogs as well as repair shoes. Kids clogs came in all colours. My sister had some red ones and I had green ones. You couldn't creep up on anybody when you were wearing them "clip clop, clip clop".

  8. My God yes, that pitch off Rowland Road!!

Shocker of a field to play on especially if you were kicking up hill. Mind you, compared to the church field at Old Town it was like a bowling green.

Off Donny Road, next to Downings[as was].

Remember the machine they used to use to clean the rust off the steel pipes. It was deafening, and I mean deafening. You couldn't hold a conversation outside when they used it.

    Dodworth juniors

I went to Dodworth Juniors. Had Rogers in the 3rd year, and can't remember 4th yr teacher's name but he looked a bit like the demon headmaster. As its a public domain I won't comment on their teaching. altho mr rogers was sh it hot at ball tigs.
