Ah it is what it is mate. It's only a forum when alls said and done.

Had I said the same in the real world, it would have probably been mulled over more amicably without any name calling.

It's always the same on here. If people weren't at polar opposites it wouldn't be the same.

I go as a blind helper to some, so I never drink and always behave - unless someone hasn't brought my mate a head set for the commentary!

I see Carlton Cole has used the incident to up his profile a bit. Not sure what's it got to do with him.

I remember Alex Ferguson once saying he didn't like to sign too many South American players as in his experience they struggled to adapt to British football. Racist?

There’s a few flaws with this. Firstly, you’re talking about scouting players currently in France and paying to bring them over, not blanket saying that any French player shouldn’t be allowed to play for us. Secondly, Tony is talking about a whole continent not a country. That’s like saying that we won’t sign any player who was born in Germany, Spain, Italy, Ireland etc. again. Obviously England is also in Europe but we can probably make an exception for them as obviously no English player would turn down a contract for more money. Oh, hang on! Maybe we shouldn’t sign any of those either. We can’t have African players as they all apparently have a bad attitude and cause mayhem. We’re running out of options now, let’s resign Brek Shea, Ryan Williams etc. Or we could realise that Manzala and Ephestion are just two people who don’t represent a whole continent and treat people based on their own merits.

Firstly, the Welsh are not a race. Secondly, who is offended? The club in question have suspended him over his comments pending an enquiry, his comments may be unlawful. That's not the same as his comments may offend some people. Thirdly all forms of racial discrimination are unlawful as far as I'm aware. Don't confuse positive action (e.g. Rooney rule) with positive discrimination.

I don’t particularly see a problem with the Welsh FA’s comments if they are purely about the rivalry between England and Wales.
It’d be like Barnsley saying that we won’t hire anyone associated with Sheffield Wednesday or United - it’s petty and you might miss out on a good candidate, but it’s sort of fair enough..?
If it was purely about nationality or race then it’s obviously ridiculous

West Ham have now sacked Tony Henry, as a result of his comments.
