Yet another controversial one. Consensus in the commentary box was no penalty and Hecky/Clapham both remonstrating with the ref as they go off for half time. Sounds like Pearson got the ball but the penalty given anyway. Luckily he didn't get sent off. Unlucky to be pegged back to 1-1 by the sound of it.
Stats are 56% possession and 7 shots on target to reds and 1 shot on target for millwall but Andy Giddings half time report says pretty even first half , Unbelievable Geoff.
Nothing we can do about ***** refs. Regularly playing against 12 men. Let's just hope we come out all guns blazing as a result.
If any team was to stop giving penalties away, first they would have to stop tackling in the box. And handballing, obviously..
That's my take on it we keep conceding penalties that are at best soft like the Jackson one against Villa, or downright wrong e.g. Leeds and Fulham. And yet when we have blatant fouls committed against us in the box the ref just waves play on. It's beyond annoying.
We didn't "concede" a penalty A penalty was awarded by the referee who deemed it such after an innocuous challenge You can't blame the team for that decision Great result today against the scum who caused such problems at Wembley This is a young team, little experience, in a very tough league, with a long road in front of them. I see certain players ie Potts are being singled out after such a short time for criticism, get a grip people. Its a marathon not a sprint to quote a cliche
