What is our realistic budget for a striker(s)?

Know a lots been said about our out goings and what money we've brought in etc etc (and for the record I don't really want to get drawn into a debate about how much money we have).

A different thread about selling Yiadom and using the money for a striker got me thinking how much have we have 'set aside' to buy a striker (or strikers).

    What are peoples thoughts? £1mil? £2mil? £5mil?

I'd like (or hope) the club have something in the way of £2-3million to spend on 2 strikers. Maybe with the view of £2-2.5million on one quality striker with another £500K to develop a 2nd striker (In The Plan ™ style).

If that is the case, what players are realistic in this bracket? (if that indeed is the likely spend we have put aside).

Wonder if the club will risk a foreign striker? Based on the above money.. Bigger risk if they don't settle etc..

As has been pointed out elsewhere, spending £2.5-£3 million would not in itself be impossible. However, paying the £15k a week that such a player would want is well beyond what we'd be prepared to offer.

Apart from Ferenci, our track record with foreign strikers is not exactly great!

CEO has said the money from the sale of Roberts will be invested in the team.
Guesstimate is he went for £3.5 million so I suppose at a guess it's that figure plus.?
We will have to wait and see.

Yeah I agree and to that respect it sucks to have such a stringent wage structure (although needed).

If thats the case is a £1mil transfer for a striker (arbitrary figure) really our ceiling transfer fee purely because the wages dictate that? (guessing the answer is probably yes)

Is that figure just for one striker? Or for 2/3?

We might be able to get someone aboard from abroad without breaking the pay structure buy as you say we have a mixed record.

If we could bring in someone like Marquis, surley we could prize him away from Donny for a million. He cant be on much more than £4k a week so we could double his wages also.

I'd say we will get one loan in and spend between 500k and a million on one of our own.

I think decent strikers cost top dollar, therefore if we want quality on the pitch , then the loan market is our likely path.

    That'd be my guess, too.
Unfortunately, with my track record on these matters, it'll prove to be 100% wrong!:D

I can't see us spending much more than a million pound on one striker.

Would Hecky take someone who's Out of Contract as with Izzy so the Transfer fee is free'd up for wages?
