Personally, I feel that good progress is been made, in terms of recruitment. The signings, so far, have a good pedigree and senior football experience. Now we could do with signing 2/3 Strikers, are there any lower league Gems we should be looking to get in ?
Personally think if we get a LB, LW and 2 quality Strikers (before the probable loans) then we will be in a great position to go top 10. 4 or 5 quality loans who the hell knows... top 5. Unless there is a real "gem" would rather we polish up Brad Ash, Stefan Payne and young Jacob Brown and Louis Rowe (both rated very highly in U18/U23. Any signings should be quality and ready to hit the championship running. Exciting times!
sam Gallagher from Southampton 21 yrs old 11 goals in 42 games on loan at Blackburn last season 6ft 4 tall and can only improve
I agree the new signings give are giving me renewed optimism, after the disappointment of seeing some of our best talent depart. Possibly our new French CEO can use his "French Network" and attract a hidden French Gem ?
Hopefully, they'll continue to be young & hungry lads who I know little or nothing about (which doesn't take much doing!).
Ollie Mcburnie loan or buy and then a smaller option with pace like armstrong just not someone lazy like he was
James Vaughen from Bury would be my choice but according to reports Bristol City are preparing a bid for him.Bury have already turned a 500k offer down.
Matt Godden at Stevenage. Scored 20 in 33 for them, and tons more before that at Ebbsfleet. Quite similar to Sam Winnall but probably a bit more physical. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
Harry Bunn is a good player but we need goal scorers. If we can't afford Ollie Watkins I'd look abroad the talent pool that we can realistically sign in the U.K. Is small. Sent from my iPad using Barnsley FC BBS Fans Forum
Personally I would push the boat out (Barnsley style ) for this lad. Can only go on highlights I've seen of him, but scores all kinds of goals, looks strong. I think he would compliment Bradshaw really well. I don't think we could outbid Brizzle on 9/10 transfers, but we do have a bit of cash, so I'm sure we could on just one, and it would be this one for me. Also think our style of play would suit him. Not saying we will be world beaters, but we are beginning to look like a team that will create lots of chances.
No one for a shed load of money or the fickle fuckers who sit round me will have him sacked if he doesn't get a debut hat trick
Maybe we should accept that buying a brace or more of strikers is too expensive and too much of a risk for us. I bet the vast majority of young hungry goalscorers are locked up at Premier League clubs. So with a bloodhound's nose to seek, a steely nerve to wait, and a manifesto to impress the parent club, we ought to try to bag a couple of the very best that are presently surplus to elite requirements. And build our own more permanent foundations from the back and middle.
With the goals we look to have from our midfield, I think we just need someone who can hold the ball up and lay it off. Doesn't need to be a twenty goals a season man if he does his job right. By the way, who's going to score goal of the season ?
John Marquis- 26 goals for Donny not yet reached 25 yr old James Alabi- 18 goals for Chester very strong & fast Omar Bogle- played 1 up top with zero service at Wigan. Still a hell of a talent! Mark Cullen- 25 yr old, scored around 25 goals last season in league 2. Ashley Hunter- one of the best talents outside the top 2 divisions Will grigg- Similar to bogle, could be one hell of a threat with decent services
