Reading his Wiki he's already been convicted twice for violent offences and served a 7 month custodial.... not looking good for him I reckon, if found guilty of course.
No result today mate. Adjourned for trial or plea and case management hearing or sent to Crown Court or in the (unlikely) event he pleads guilty today adjourned for social enquiry reports
I'm a bit out of the loop these days regarding the criminal justice system but I just assumed he'd plead not guilty and it'd be sent to crown court for his case to be heard?
He’ll probably get offered the Barnsley job with the option to take a lesser sentence of 10 years in prison
Agree: Pleads Not Guilty - deferred to Crown Court for Trial. Pleads Guilty - deferred to Crown Court for sentencing. I cannot not see that Magistrates would have the power to sentence given the gravity of the charge, the previous convictions and the mitigation (laughable though that may be).
https://www.lep.co.uk/news/crime/fl...face-assault-charge-in-court-today-1-10041690 Starts at 2 pm. I expect a pretty big crowd will be waiting to shout at him when he turns up. National press will probably be there too because it's him.
Looks like a Category 2 offence in the Sentencing guidelines. That carries a range of low level community order to 51 weeks custody. If he were to admit it that would entitle his brief to put forward offence and offender mitigation, and I could easily see it being moderated to a high level community order with substantial compensation. However, the criminal justice system being the game it is at times, I'd expect him to plead not guilty and for it to be stuck out for trial - possibly until next May if the brief can get away with it. That would still allow him to change plea and have the benefit of mitigation when he comes back, although any discount in sentence would have to be reduced.
Really? How little must someone have to do with their day that that’s the best option? its hardly a serial murder is it?
First Stendel was fired. Then he wound up Sunderland for cancelling their game this weekend..... https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/...us-says-fleetwood-boss-joey-barton-1-10038854 Now this morning he got nominated for the manager of the month award. He's going to think everything this week is going for him so hopefully this afternoon that will change.
Agreed, unlikely to go down even for this I’m afraid- suspended what-not and a long community service.
He’d be happy with that by the looks of a recent video of him on a stag do in Newquay most of his mates are about that age
