Apparently she's standing for Labour in Barnsley East. Genuine question as I vote in Barnsley East.

    Thanks

True, the Labour party will split (Autumn 2017) before that happens.

Well firstly that assumes the election will be as bad as is predicted. Admittedly I'm campaigning in a Labour area but the reaction on the doorstep isn't anything like it's supposed to be. In fact many are saying they are fed up with how Corbyn has been treated even, wait for it, some Tory voters I've spoken to.

If the worst comes to the worst, Corbyn may hang on until conference to push through the McDonnell Amendment that would make it easier to get a left slate candidate in future or perversely if performance is so bad it might not be that difficult to get the required 15% of MP's/MEP's to support a left candidate.

Will his grass roots support go easily? Some will drift away as happened with Blair, some will stay in but no longer be active as happened with Blair, others will continue the fight.

It's not about the man it's the idea that a democratic Socialist party actually has democratic Socialist policies. Labour being what Labour should be.

I'm appalled with how Corbyn's been treated - mainly by his PLP - but because of the massive gulf between him & them I don't think they're electable - they'd spend the 1st 2 years trying to get rid of him - the PLP are that arrogant that they'd fly in the face of the electorate imho to pursue their own agenda.

FWIW I don'think it'll be the landlslide for the Tories many predict, but Labour are in a parlous state - and not because of Corbyn imho.

We're in the state we are in because of Blair and his ilk. Carpet baggers of the worst kind.

Labour's problem is that they've descended into something resembling the Life of Brian with the Judean People's Front and the People's Front of Judea. More focused on attacking each other than the common enemy.

As a result, the government, which has been incompetent, malicious and self-serving on a massive scale have hardly had a glove laid on them. Now it's looking like they will be given the mandate to carry on pillaging OUR public services for their own profit for another 5 years, and in reality many more after that.
