I did a load of polls the other night. I quite like them. Anyway, we've managed the princely sum of one league goal so far this season - a penalty scored last weekend by Woodrow. According to the stats, our XG (Expected Goals) should be around 3 so far - so yet again we are underperforming in this area (as we did so badly last season). What's the reason for this? Is it poor finishing? Have we come up against good goal keepers so far? Is it psychological, in that when we do create a chance it seems our forwards snatch and miss them? Solution wise it's difficult. Do we have someone at the club who can go on a run and score 20+ league goals? Will it be a loan signing? Or will it be from somewhere else? I think we'll lose Woodrow before the season is over - so it won't be him. I'm going to go out on a limb and say we sign a target man who then brings out the best in Chaplin. Any suggestions of predictions?
It'll be Woodrow again, but unless something drastic happens I'd be surprised if he bagged more than 10
Not necessarily. If Walton takes over the job of taking penalties then it could be him. Obviously none of the outfield players are going to score in open play.
But that means we need to get another 2 penalties at least this season. Never gonna happen is it? We've already had 1, only gonna get another 1
