No mate, Chris Corke of Hoylandswaine is no paediatrician

I think you're getting a little confused again

I think we all saw how sorry he was about what he had done

when he referred to it as a misdemeanor

Vigilantes got confused with the words paediatrian and paedophile and attacked the paediatrians house, who happened to be a woman. I think thats what he meant

but we KNOW that Chris Corke AKA Tommy Tyke is not a paediatrician

There is no confusion by anyone and likening this situation where people KNOW that he was found guilty to situation's where idiots attack paediatricians is very offensive but I have to say i'm not surprised

I was not trying to say any different about Tommy Tyke. I know what he is and it makes me feel physically ill as do people who try to stick up for this person and try to play down his crime. They must not appreciate the seriousness and the damage caused to some of the children who are photographed as they are often abused children

That's the problem, though - he isn't is he? Not a very clever contribution.

the train of thought that said that the bbc paying for tickets as part of a package and then giving said tickets as gifts to employees is not the best way to spend its limited budget?

and most likely will always do if you don't explain why it is wrong.

Is it that tickets weren't given out as gifts/prizes in a ballot? Or is it that the bbc didn't pay for the tickets as part of a package.

I'd search for the thread from the other night, ST

But I can't be arsed. In a nutshell. the BBC does, indeed, pay for the rights to show games at the Euros. This is a joint deal with ITV. As part of the 'package', the BBC can request a number of seats for each game. These are either observer seats (spaces in the commentary box area that haven't been taken up) or seats around fixed camera positions that are deemed unsuitable for the paying public due to restricted views or cabling/safety issues. Clearly accredited media are expendable! All the broadcasters here can put in the same requests. The number of seats we can request and, indeed, the number we get, bears no relation to how 'big' a broadcaster we are or how much we've paid for our rights. Compared to the BBC for example, the various Spanish broadcasters make up a pretty small contingent in the Broadcast Centre. Yet you can bet your bottom peseta that they'll have put in for an enormous amount of observer seats for the Final - understandable. What tickets we get or don't get is not affected in any way whatsoever by the fees we have paid to be here. Staff turning down tickets is not going to put money back into the Beeb's coffers. So when someone says 'ayup Micky, your name's come out of the hat, do you want this ticket for Spain v Russia?', there is absolutely no value in saying no!! These are NOT seats that would otherwise be available to paying punters. There - finding the other thread might have been easier after all! Hope that clears it up.

CT (?), I'm not sure why you're sticking up for him

Isuppose you want the thread to die? I'm guessing if you stopped replying it would speed up that process. For the record, I live in the same village and my wife will not allow our children out on their own without supervision. Over reaction? Well it's not a risk worth taking. In all that I read about it, I just find it too much of a coincidence for hisIP to be randomnlymonitored by the police. There must have been some inclination on their part.I do know that I would be very concerned if I saw him near the playground whilst my kids were there. But, I must stress in the 3/4 years (?)since the story broke, I have seen him twice, both times he was driving his car and I'm no recluse, in the summer I visit the playground most evenings.

I find what he did was repulsive, but I can't see the point of the witch hunt. I also think that if the moderators know he still posts they should block his IP. I feel nothing for TT but have a lot of sympathy for his son who is a genuinely nice bloke.

And I'm not sure I am!!

Sympathise with all you say - one of the more rational and reasoned posts I've seen on here. I was just amazed that 'Ron' should see fit to use Laura's name to push his point of view.
