I believe it's been like that for years, but since it just about never happens nobody knows about it. Interestingly, the same rules apply in the head to head matches if the points are equal - goal difference, then goals scored. In the event that they're all equal too, a play off match has to take place.
OK fair enough - but why are Burton above us now? Same points and same goal difference. They have scored more goals, but have played one more game. Just interested after the replies on this thread
