Why are we called Dingles?

i've heard many reasons why we are called dingles but i dont no the real reason.

 

They all reckon where scrubbers and inbred like the Dingles on Emmerdale.

 

Originally we were called that because

some idiots thought that the Dingles were supposed to come from Barnsley, but as usual the got us mixed up with BURNLEY where the Dingles are supposed to be from in the Soap

 

It's because we are such wonderful people they call us the Dingles.
How many Families support each other like they do.
A true Yorkshire family. Oh, er hang on, Lancastrian family.

 

Cain Dingle is a Barnsley fan ( well real person)

 

well i got told its because the dingles in the soap have never moved house and that 99% of people born and raised in tarn never leave

The Dingles moved from Lancashire, so they must have moved house cos Emmerdale is in Yorkshire

so thats that theory busted

 

Also , using that theory

it make Ken Barlow the leader of the Dingles, he still lives in the same house he did in 1962

 

why do younthink you daft bugger?

cos they like to make out we are all inbred and thick like the dingle family on Emmerdale. I can't see why any of the Dingle family would be Barnsley supporters, they're all Lancastrians as far as I can tell by the accent. Plus I;ve never seen any of them at Oakwell!

 

kane and eelie are both from Oldham, i dont know why they would be Barnsley supporters, i know once eelie was on calendar and they asked him who he supported n e sed us, wether e wor kidding not sure but sounded genuine

 

well surely one of us would have seen him at Oakwell? I'm pretty sure he must have been joking!

 

Lancashire clubs called Burnley it because they are a scruffy theiving lot

And so the Sheffielders started to call us it.........and it caught on at Pikey Rovers

Tell thi, they dunt like us in Dee Dar land. They can't understand us (and I'm not talking abart how we talk)

 

Anybody who watche's the tv prog from above

should be called a dingle for obvious reason's

can't believe you find it a topic of conversation

But hey do not let me spoil your fun of watching such tripe

Maybe we should be called the tripers similair to the shrimper's eh.

What makes matters worse is we're under a Sheffield postcode. Maybe it's about time someone shouted out for an independent postcode?
