The unfortunate families of the dead from the attriocity in Tunisia are going to sue the travel agency with whom they booked their holiday. I doubt if they have a case. Why in the present day and age would anyone go on holiday to an Islamic country, be it, the Maldives, Kosovo Turkey or The Emirates. Having worked in Islamic world for twenty years, the last thing I would advise is for anyone to holiday there. They are simply not trustworthy. What a Muslim says, thinks and does are three entirely different things,. Be warned.

They're trustworthy enough countries to be employed and earn a living though eh. Not going to bother going into it any further because as crap posts go, this is up there.

Ive been sharm a few years back before it all got knocked on head. Was okay wouldn't go now if you payed me. But I know people who are currently in Muslim countries in the uae working and have been there years no problems. Thong nowadays is we live in a claim culture were if people think they are entitled to a few quid they will go for it. Can't see them getting out its not the travel agents fault they was already warnings on Tunisia by the home office before those attacks happened.

Why do people go to Birmingham, East London, Bradford, Dewsbury, Blackburn, Oldham, Leicester, Luton etc?

Got to agree with initial post.
You don't really need a security check on the resort.
All you need to know is if the country is ruled by Muslims.

Which is really sad news for all the decent Muslims that live in these countries - especially those reliant on tourism.
And it's also really sad news for us here that have to suffer the world becoming increasingly smaller at a time when world travel is becoming much easier.

See the usual suspects are out. So 'perving' on young children is exclusively a Muslim thing is it?

Edit? Could've been an Orphan in this country and sent to Australia eh

I don't think he said it was exclusively a Muslim thing but I know what he means. I took my kids to Tunisia when my daughter was about 14 and I was very uncomfortable with the way she was being looked at and touched. It certainly wasn't all men, or even most men for that matter, but I experienced something there that I haven't experienced in Spain, Greece, Malta or anywhere else. I was constantly on edge which made I wasn't happy about because the majority of Tunisians we were involved with were warm, friendly and engaging without being pervy.

I've seen and experienced exactly the same thing in France, Spain and Greece where the majority of the locals were of 'western' culture.

There are horrible people everywhere in the world.

Frightening level of unintelligence to think otherwise and try and claim a behaviour is specific to one place.

It would be a "frightening level of unintelligence" to claim that everywhere in the world one finds people behaving in the same way as in other countries or regions, irrespective of country or culture.

If you haven't noticed that things often change when you go to different places, you haven't been to Bury.

For me - the issue here isn't about being a muslim country or not.
This could have happened anywhere in the world - Paris - Brussels - Copenhagen - Berlin - Indonesia - Greece!

As it happens it happened in Tunisia.
BUT how can people sue the tour operator? I would do my research before I went anywhere, if there was even so much as a slight risk, I'd take it seriously and weigh up my options.
as tragic as there loss is, and I do feel sorry for the victims. This could have happened anywhere, the tour operator cannot be held accountable for a LONE attacker intent on killing people.

Been to many Muslim countries and never had any bother. But then again I respect other people and act accordingly. Actually Kashmir was a bit gpharem scarum but I was younger and dafter. Scariest place I've ever been was Jerusalem in a situation caused by Israeli Police doesn't mean I suddenly decided all Jewish countries were off limits.

People are just people. There are good and bad in every creed, religion or culture. Muslims are no different to anyone else in that respect.

I know the Health service is desperately under resourced but we've surely got to put more investment into education in this country. Quite bonkers.
