Be a massive boost to lower league football if Wendy go down with their millions of fans dwelling their grounds Covid allowing . We won’t need any help next season imo .
Ive got to echo what others are saying about the £500k shamelessly thrown away for an appeal that was an absolute long shot and had miniscule chance of success. I'd like to hope Wigan fans might want to channel some of their ire built from false hope at their showboating administrators. £500k would have bought more time to find a buyer. Unless something is imminent, there is a very real risk of liquidation.
Not just the 500k, there's also the extra time of uncertainty of what league they are in, which the administrator said was a hindrance to getting a new owner. All for an appeal, which the Wigan QC is now quoted as describing as "unwinnable"
It was pretty evident that it was unwinnable. No precedent at all to overturn that decision. Krasner and his fellow administrator should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
Common sense has prevailed. Looking at the immediate prospects of each Club, as it stands Barnsley had the better chance of fulfilling their Championship fixtures than Wigan. Result is they have squandered £500k on this appeal, which could have gone some way towards contributing towards their financial commitments going forward. Totally irresponsible in my view.
