It seems to me we have a squad with very little pace in it,the way stendel plays, this will eventually find us out,we have had the rub of the green so far this season, but everything equals out in the end and these players getting in behind us are eventually going to start hitting the target. theres no players I've seen in under 23s that can move up at the moment ,so will mr Stendel have the nouse to change tactics and play with the cards he has been dealt ,no more High press because we just can't do it and our luck is going to start to run out !
It is one lost battle that loses a war ,if the enemy spots our weakness, charlton spotted our full backs can't get forward and back in time if they lose the ball,Luton we're doing it too but luckily we had goals in hand ,we have no pace to cover anyone losing this ball out of position
I for one am really worried about how this season is panning out. We're just about on target for automatic promotion, we've scored a load of goals and conceded very few, and we've hammered most teams even though that's not always been reflected in the result. We've lost 2 games out of 13. We're playing in the 3rd division, but all our 3rd division players are not allowed to have any weaknesses at all. We're not doomed yet. We're having a great season which I'm enjoying enormously.
Lets hope it doesn't, but it's been obvious all season. Luckily at this level teams don't take their chances as often as in the championship, so it's not cost us much. Also when we score a couple of goals most clubs heads go down so that helps our defence. The defence still have time to improve for when we hopefully get promoted. But as things currently stand we'd need a completely new back four to stand a chance back in the championship.
It’s not all about pace it’s about cover, if fullbacks are pushing on midfielder has to step across to give protection to avoid Pinnock and Lindsey being dragged out of position
The worry for me was how easy it was for them to score against us.We huffed and puffed but in all honesty never looked like scoring.
Don’t know about you but I’m getting sick of all those 4-0 scorelines. When is our management going to address that? Should be racking up sixes and sevens. Boooo rubbish....
After the Peterborough game I had time on the drive home to reflect on what went wrong. It was a sorry tale of missed chances, final third give-aways and slack marking. It's a good job we got 4 lucky goals to add some respectability to the scoreline.
Well we’ve got 3 very quick players, it’s just getting them on the pitch. That’s the only problem with quick players, they always seem to be popping hamstrings & other muscles
I've only managed to get to 4 games, which unfortunately have been the 0-0 vs Wimbledon, 0-1 vs Coventry and yesterday's 2-0 reverse. The other was the 4-0 win at Rochdale where we utterly dominated with pace, power and class. The Coventry and Charlton games though it was plain to see we lacked pace and both caught us out on the counter numerous times. We don't seem to have a plan (or the players) to counter this which is a worry, but then I look at the table and our other results and that worry subsides somewhat.
If we were to miss out this season it will probably have more to do with a lack of strength in depth rather than a lack of pace. Having said that I would imagine none of the teams in this league will be blessed with big squads that has quality all way through and all will have periods were they lose their better players. The ones that go up will probably be the ones who get to play their best starting 11 the most often, like Portsmouth are currently doing
I'm not worried about lack of pace or anything. We've a great side at this level, but won't always have it our own way. Before yesterday other teams fans were heaping praise on us on their forums. Nowts changed.
Just this The way we play is going to leave us open at the back but the way we've played for 90% of the season has lead to us having 3/4 more chances than the opposition has had against us.
