We sometimes get people on here accusing others of being a WUM.
It's becoming far too common in my opinion.

Are there really so many WUMs on here? Or indeed any individuals that regularly post on here to wind people up? Because I don't think there is.

Are there really individuals on here that constantly attempt to wind up all others on this message board?

Or - is it the case that certain individuals think and express their thoughts in a different way from the majority of people?

Or - is it the case that the individuals that accuse others of being a WUM are themselves just hard of thinking and find it difficult to comprehend thoughts and ideas that don't follow the usual trend?
(Get ready for the usual dim suspects on here of accusing me of being a WUM for this post).

Personally when I see someone accuse someone of being a WUM - then straight away I believe the accuser is just too idle to actually think and give an opinion of what is being said.

Hemsworth Tyke is definitely on a wind-up trip. That got proven beyond all doubt last week. Nobody goes to the trouble of belittling our players the way he does, in the calculated terms he does, unless they’re just out to get everyone’s backs up. It’s that or really, really desperate attention-seeking, which might be symptomatic of more serious, underlying issues.

If that makes me ‘hard of thinking’, then bring it on.

By using words/phrases like that, I think you've answered your own question.

Yes but the important thing here is did Hemsies post actually WIND YOU UP?

If you believe that post was stupid - then either explain to him why it is stupid - or if you thought it didn't deserve an answer then why not move on and read something else?
If a post didn't deserve an answer - then why get wound up about it?

Well I have to be honest - I can pussyfoot around this - but that's exactly what springs to mind when I see that phrase used.

Annoyed me rather than wound me up, but what? We’re supposed to just look on as individuals spoil the board for everyone else??! I love my football club, but it’s pretty obvious that HT doesn’t.

I've read some of Hemsies stuff - and not one little bit of it has ever upset me or wound me up.

Only time in last few months that something has annoyed me regarding posts in relation to the club wasn't on here - it was someone on the other board who was saying Hammill is more valuable to the club than Hecky.
    Unbelievable!!!
But I didn't just call them a WUM - I went about explaining how important Hecky was to the club.

Nothing I have ever read from anyone on here has ever wound me up. I dont get how some people want Hemmsy banned for having opinion about a player.
I do however understand why some people feel insulted at being called a bully as its a pretty serious insinuation. The people that make these claims then fail to answer questions about their allegations, and while I do enjoy reading your posts Nudger, you are the prime example of this and this is probably why you are called a WUM.

I dunno, you can't tell what motivates some people to write the stuff they do. After a while you soon learn who the pseudo intellectuals and pundits are, and so just don't take them seriously. Hopefully over time their over inflated sense of self worth will dissipate. One or 2 are a bit old for that though, so just smile nicely and let them waffle.

I still think there's something not wired up right in Hemmsy's head, but again, so what ? As much as I disagree with most of what he puts, it's (currently) a free country and open board. I think he talks absolute bullsh1t most of the time so I don't respond. Mainly because he just will not address anyone who contradicts his assertions with facts, so how can you debate ? Not responding makes life so much easier.

This thread is about the term WUM - and not the problems we have on here about bullying.
    But while you mention it:

I've never been accused on here of being a bully.
But it's worth taking note of the bullying repeat offenders - who follow a certain pattern.
And it works like this - someone posts something that receives a derogatory remark which is followed by another derogatory remark which signals for the usual bully's to pile on.
The same names are involved time after time.

We all have differing opinions on what bullying is I think. Best we leave this one here.

I once worked for an official receiver, he was definitely a wind-up merchant.
