    What are you talking about?

You said plan A should be to get Bradshaw and Payne working as a partnership.

Plan A should be to get 2-3 better strikers in the door.

You've also contradicted yourself saying Bradshaw didn't make the step up.

Let's forget his defensive qualities for now. They can be worked on.

I'm looking to get the best out of Bradshaw from what we've already got, or will start the season with.

Hecky has tried everything this season in terms of his front two, and never really settled with a pairing.

If we're planning on going out and getting a proven player, great! But you and I know the likelihood of that happening.

We're probably going to delve into the depths again, and why not, but also why not use what we've got?

We wont be starting the season with just Payne and Bradshaw. How can you think that will happen?

And that's why I'm suggesting he needs someone else with him. Why not try Payne?

I hope we do bring in some more players for all positions, we have to, but we have players at the club that haven't had a fair crack of the whip.

Maybe he's been sent out on loan because he's not good enough. If he'd got 15- 20 in league one fair enough.

    I didn't say we would did I?

I said I would like to see them tried as a pairing.

Let's not forget there are pre season friendlies for them to play in.

He's been injured whilst on loan hasn't he? I don't think he's had enough games to be scoring loads of goals.

I can see your point. I just don't see either Bradshaw or Payne as being good enough at Championship level but nowt wrong with giving them a go together pre season.

This is pretty much what I'm proposing, but it seems to have over excited a few.

I think it's been misconstrued as "let's not sign any more players"

You said it should be Plan A.

Plan A is to sign better.

In fairness was there a single Barnsley fan who expected us to start February with just Armstrong and Bradshaw on the books considered strikers by the manager?

Classed as a winger by hecky judging on where he has played him the vast majority of games. All through choice too not necessity.

He's played loads of games upfront both this season and last. He's played as a lone striker as well as in a 2.

Played upfront at Ipswich first game and he finished the season upfront at Newcastle today.

Would you agree that his primary position under hecky has been a winger?

He's a winger or a striker it doesn't matter which position he's played more times in Hecky still thinks he can perform in either role.

It was a figure of speech.

I wasn't suggesting making it a legal requirement.

Of course we'd like to sign better, personally I'd like us to go out and get a 20 goal proven championship striker, but it's not going to happen. So I'm suggesting what I'd like us to do with the players we've got.

Why not make Jacob Brown and Tom Bradshaw the Plan A pairing?
