........ and a very real chance of Championship football next year, I'd much rather save any negative thoughts and criticisms I might have (you might guess I haven't got many) until the season's over and we know where we are. If the players do read this board, and I'm assured they do, now's the time to support, not undermine, them and the team. I realise this is a discussion forum and you can't have discussion without disagreement, and I can see that the naysayers need to put in the preparation now for their possible 'told you so' moment later, but I really can't see how any of it helps. And as I'd rather see us in the Championship next season it really pisses me off. So, until the end of the season, and from the start of next season ..... it's 'Come On You Reds' from me.
well said lad , still all to play for. gulity of being negative myself but mainly out of frustration.... I still think we can stay if the lads can show that fighting spirit, mcburnies goal on Saturday may turn out to be very important.... COYR
It was your comment yesterday that I was thinking of. But I can't argue with that, anyway, until they stop ... Come On You Reds
I think the grown up view is to realise we're fooked, to be honest. Not the players fault that we sold better ones before they came.
That comment says it all about the what’s being said ,and the language used ,on this forum by the keyboard warriors / would be managers. Not exactly supportive or inspiring. Look in before you out
This board isn’t necessarily here to do either of those things. It’s quite often the equivalent of sitting in the pub post match, dissecting the match. I wouldn’t recommend any player to do that either.
No one I know will be saying “I told you so”. Just doesn’t happen. But you are right, it’s about 4 matches and 4 positive results. We can save the post mortem until after them.
I thought it was for supporters , anyway I don’t suppose the culprits would take too kindly to being spoken about in such a manner ps this is not a pub
Of course it is. But not just for blind faith and without debate, discussion and disagreement and only with gushing praise it would be a pretty sterile place
Everyone no doubt welcomes different opinions and debate ,that’s a great thing and an eye opener to us all, but not gutter talk
Why does it? This group of players has managed eight wins in 42 matches - a win percentage of less than 20%. Im pretty sure that if any players do read this board they won't be expecting to see unanimous praise.
Do you guys not understand the difference between debate ,discussion and arguments which are all great , and the gutter talk used by some ,you seem to be avoiding that issue , anyway it is what it is ,I suppose we all have different ways of expressing our frustrations whether they be good or bad
If that's the grown up view Mr Cart, I hope our players never grow up, or give up. Anyway, I'm sure you've backed horses with longer odds than us and made money. But my point is that now's the time for positive support, whatever anybody might think. Or if people can't do that, perhaps just bite your tongue for 4 games.
Quite right - I expect the players not to give up and to give their all. They have done exactly that in the last three home games (I can't comment on the away one). But this, on the other hand is a discussion forum, where we air our opinions, neuroses or sometimes our blind optimism, and in my view the plain fact is that they are not good enough as a group to stay in this league given the difficult fixtures left. I try to back horses with chances greater than their odds imply. With that in mind, I would commend Hill's 5/4 odds for us to be relegated (+45% chance). I'll be delighted if I am wrong, and it will not be the first time!
