Potentially losing the clubs best asset.
I would hope anyone buying Barnsley is looking at the long term investment of next 20 plus years.
But imagine if they are still looking to buy the club they will have spoken to GG and Patrick and if Hecky was crucial to their plans and seen as the asset we know he is an improved contract will be a priority.
I have to say that the Sun article lost any credibility it might have had when it stated that Hecky is currently on a 'barely six figure' salary. Not sure you can buy houses like the one he just has on that sort of money (in a notoriously insecure profession). Unless his wife is also a big earner.
I agree wi that Hudders... don't want to worry until there's something to worry about. But what a lovely early Christmas prezzie that would be, lose Hecky and the owner deal falls through..
They'd be a bit of dome and gloom then..
I think Mr Lee shouldn’t have allowed the take over deal to take so long if he sees Hecky as his most prominent asset. Perhaps they are looking at being Sunderland again instead of us.
The hold up may not be anything to do with Mr Lee and his partners..
Please, folks, don't lose sleep over a ridiculous article written in a ridiculous paper by a lazy journalist with nothing to write about.
The transfer window is closed, we're in the middle of an international break occupied by low key friendlies that even the players can't be bothered with.
The Sunderland vacancy is pretty high profile by Championship standards so some journo has had a quick flick on William Hills website, picked a name and filled a few column inches with it.
He's probably thinking "if you can take the pebble from my hand, you can leave grasshecky"
Often new owners want their own man in anyway who knows maybe they do maybe they don'.
He's probably thinking, right we'd need a new head coach but there are plenty of young, upcoming and successful managers about and we will continue using the same model just as when Johnson left so we will try to continue to run as smoothly as possible, albeit with the disappointment of losing a great coach
That assumes it is he who has taken the time!
I can guarantee you his wife isn't a big earner as she used to work with my mum.
It also says in the sun hecky is worried about his future at the club with the potential new owners.
Well under the circumstances of what we have seen so far - a good guess is that Mr Lee is sat with his feet up in America while drinking coffee and eating doughnuts.
Because he clearly hasn't a clue what's happening at Barnsley - or what Barnsley is all about.
which would mean that there is a takeover to be worried about. You wouldn't be worried if there wasn't one...... would you ? Oh sorry, this is BFC so be afraid... be very afraid.
That's a smoke screen if Hecky uses that as a reason for moving. It's money nothing else.
Hmm I'm not so sure it is all rumous at minute not sure how much if any is true. But hecky is supposed to be one of our own in his own words he has turned down more money and bigger clubs to play and coach at bfc. It's worrying if he were to go to Sunderland of all clubs one hard job a club in turmoil. Maybe they is some truth and he expects the new owners want their man in who knows.
I can confidently state that hecky may or not be our manager come January.
You can take that to the bank.
