I'm really intruiged, what did happen, eveyone is mentioning it without saying what actually happened!

Or was it just the worst atmosphere in the last 20 years for the younger supporters???

    What didn't happen??

Scrapping during half time behind the stand both sets of fans leaving the ground at the same time coin bricks cans of piss all raining down onto the Barnsley fans & to make it worse we had just stuffed them 4-0

well first and foremost we played them off the park mate :D

obviously it was the end of their season at the full time whistle. the police kept us behind after the game but a vast majority of the brum support simply stayed behind after the game and waited for us to be released. once we were released we received a torrent of verbal and physical abuse.

Pub windows were being smashed, bricks were being thrown at us and the police were doing very little to protect us.

It was fckin scary tbh, but still glad I went. One of the best BFC team performances I have ever seen.

Certainly the best game I've missed in the last 20 odd years (well plus Liverpool and Chelsea last time).

I'm sure the crap was worth putting up with!

Halifax in the league cup about 1972, it was foggy and they'd just re- grassed the terrace at The Shay, slippery as f..k, a nightmare

I'm just gald we went on the bus that day - all the buses were held in a compound behind the away end - we were relatively safe until it set off home - all we had to do was duck when we drove past the pubs!!.

Would have hated to think I had to make my way back to a car - I'd have stayed in the ground for about 4 hours!!.

I remember doing the same when we beat sheff utd to go top just before Christmas in the promotion season. We were parked right up in the City centre near the pubs area, and had to walk back with all these pissed off blunts - when we got in the car we ..... well you remember Del and Rodney shaking the robin reliant about when they came into money in Only Fools... - it was just like that!!!!.
