Only time I recall us getting anything there was during the Simon Davey era. We were losing
2-0 and came back to draw 2-2 with them. As we were walking back to our cars, Barnsley fans
were taunting the Wendies singing " 2-0 and you fu**ed it up etc". Remember they didn't like it
    and scuffles broke out.

90 and rest. Was bang in line with it. It was in from moment it left his boot. Was gutted we'd played so well with ten men.

Think it was an afternoon game. An Easter Monday if I remember correctly....?

I’m almost sure it was a night game but will stand corrected.
I also remember another game of that era when we played them off the park only to suffer some shocking refereeing decisions, including a disallowed goal.
Barrowclough was running riot down left wing and getting some right clog.
    Possibly another night game.

You could see the ****** shaping to shoot for about ten minutes as well, trying to get it on the right foot. No-one went anywhere near him.

Never seen us win anything at swillsborough, I was there back in 2004 as a guest of a firm we supplied when QPR beat them 3-1 to get promoted. The R’s fans were dancing on the pitch, the pigs had nothing to play for but couldn't be sporting about it. We watched as one of the wednesday massive strode over the pitch side hoardings unchallenged carrying an invisible roll of carpet under each arm and walked slowly toward the celebrating young lads jumping about in the box. He carefully selected his target, a skinny youth of about 14 jumping about with his mates celebrating his teams promotion, he walked toward him still carrying the carpets and knocked the bairn out. Ego stroked and notoriety increased he slowly left the pitch unnoticed by police or stewards, never forgotten it, sickened. Disliked them ever since. Hope he got his comeuppance at some point.

1979 first time I saw us play wendies. Got battered 3-0 at home but got revenge at swillsboro won 2-0. But I have always said the best football I've ever seen from a Barnsley side was in1981. (Away) drew 2-2. That first half especially. Mate who listened to it on the radio said the commentator quoted. "Wendies had better come out with another ball in the Second half. Cos they haven't touched it first half." How the hell they scraped a draw only God knows.

Yes I remember it as an afternoon game. I went with my owl brother and stood on the kop. Could only celebrate with a wry smile. I was only a nipper.

Was that the game where they took out Derrick Parker, who was never quite the same when he'd recovered. Really bad ankle injury I think.

Yep, Hecky sent off fairly early on and we played them off the park. Also memorable for those two lasses (Twin?) who came on the pitch at half time to sing and got completely drowned out by our supporters. I think they walked off calling us all the names under the sun and a good old two fingered salute.

Can’t hear the DISCO song without being reminded of that night. Heard it all the way back to the car up Wadsley Bridge and it never left my head for weeks
