On way home from game last night, number 2 son says "did you know we have not scored a goal while Mowatt has been on the pitch!" So done a bit of digging and Alex's stats are, on pitch 319 minutes (not including added on time!) and we have not scored a goal in all of that!!! He has started 5 games and come on as a sub 3 times. In games he has started, he has been withdrawn before we have scored, against Wolves, Huddersfield, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday!! Also he came on a sub at Derby and we had already scored!!! Hope he can get up to speed soon and break this unwanted Statistic!!!
I used to call Carel Van Den Velden the jinxster as we never won a game he played in either as a starter or a sub. Mowatt will be taking the crown soon.
Tottenham didn't win any of the first 24 games Gareth bale appeared in. I think Mr Mowatt will do ok. He has obvious ability, he needs to take on his coaching, improve his fitness. I thought he was decent last night but still not quite up to the level I was expecting when we signed him. I'm expecting after a good pre-season for him to show more next season.
