    Interesting stats here

40 fixtures on Xmas day. Only 6 at home??

Is anyone old enough to remember these games?

That really would not have gone down well with The Reverend.

Remember we were formed as a result of the rugby club playing a fixture on Good Friday. Playing on Christmas Day would be even worse.

Shame it's still not a thing. Still plenty of football around the world today such as in Saudi Arabia and surprisingly a fair few fixtures from 5 onwards in Israel, including two Nazareth clubs.

We beat them away 1-2 in 1923 on Xmas day, then beat them at home 1-0 the day after on boxing Day!

How festive. Which one would Jesus have supported?

Those of the Jewish faith do not celebrate christmas so it's not surprising they have a full list of matches on christmas day. The christian population is only 2%. It might have been different 80 years ago before the state of israel came into being.

I remember them well. Early kick off and then a dash home for Christmas dinner.Matches with some players looking like they were still half cut from the night before. Happy days of players getting on the bus with the punters.
