Anybody around the training ground or "in the know" have any insight into whether he's in the picture for a game on Saturday?

Not in the know, but imagine with McCarthy being out it will be Fryers on left and Pearson on right.

Yids can't be match fit and Hecky makes a point of people having to fight their way back in - like McDonald.

Didn't he then get dropped for the league games?

Hecky said at press conf this morning that both Yiadom & Isgrove were "available for this weekend if selected".

Yes but MacDonald had to wait to get back into the side - he wasn’t even in the squad for the Villa when he was available; and given that Jackson had a pretty off-game against Villa so it was fair enough

And anyway, MacDonald since hasn’t played and the form of Jackson and Lindsay has justified this, very much proving the point that he has to fight his way back in as would Yiadom. Given the unavailability of Mccarthy that opens a door for him, just as unavailability of Jackson or Lindsay would open the door for Angus
