After all the posts pin here slating our other players today. I would happily drive him to Huddersfield or Swansea. Her has been terrible the lat few games he had played...
Said it myself at the match, why are we playing somebody that is ******* off in 4 or 5 weeks. Mccarthy not put a foot wrong early stages of season but Sat on the bench getting splinters in his arse waiting for his chance.
He was terrible first half, then seemed to be much better when he was 40 yards higher up the pitch in the second. I've always maintained that he isn't a full back.
Honestly think he'd do a job in midfield. He's quicker mentally & physically (Williams apart) than any of our other midfielders. Moncur, Potts & Gardner are all too slow at this level. Unfortunately, wherever we play him it won't matter....Yids will be gone in Jan anyway.
I think we’re only playing him to prove his fitness & ensure we get a fee for him in January. It’s frustrating that we’ve broke up the Hammill - McCarthy partnership on the right which was our best asset for the first month or two of the season
Interesting point, particularly if we play a 4-2-3-1 as Yiadom could slot in as a solid DM alongside Williams which would allow our CAM to be far more adventurous.
He might make a decent attacking midfielder. Definitely need to get McCarthy back in there at right back before he goes off the boil and ends up half the player he was. Try Yiadom instead of Moncur in the next couple of games. If it doesn't work, think again. I know people complain about chopping and changing but Hecky still hasn't found the best eleven yet. Different line ups for different oppositions I suppose but, whatever the reason on Saturday, it was clear from early on that the wrong eleven were out there.
During the game against Birmingham I said I wouldn’t mind it if McCarthy came on at rb and we pushed Yiadom ahead of him at right midfield. Yiadom could probably do a job in most positions on the field to be fair. Just as long as he doesn’t play like yesterday and uses him teammates quicker/more.
