Apparently the cup itself has been found on Ebay and bought by a chap for a couple of grand, the trophy has been subsequently bought from said chap and placed in a museum, Barnsley Football Club were the last team to win this tournament in 1993 beating Doncaster Rovers.
I vaguely remember this tournament, but, I thought it was a pre season event, the Daily Mirror says it was an end of season thing, can anyone remember attending these games?

Was called the Sheffield and Hallamshire county cup. Involved the 5 South Yorkshire clubs. We were the last winners. Surprised it’s in private hands. It was played during the season if I remember right.

Yeah I remember the County Cup very well, it was surprisingly popular in its day attracting similar attendances to League games IIRC. From memory I think it was played at various times, including midweek matches during the season.
