Don't know how many on here read it, but the Yorkshire Post (free online) run a feature after the weekend's games called "Team of the week". Good win for the Blunts, but after seeing how Derby totally gifted them all three goals, I thought it was overdoing it to include four of their players in TOTW and also make Wilder the manager of TOTW, while we just had Adam Hammill in following our more impressive display. All became clear when I read the closing sentence: "[Wilder] has moulded a team in his own image - few would have expected the Blades to overrun Sunderland in the manner they did." Oops!
Never been impressed with their coverage (got worse since the internet, it was bearable as an actual paper). Here's a great example. The picture of the Massive's joke of a manager is the headline picture for every club section. Very lazy indeed. I'm a web developer and know how easy it would be to have relevant pictures for each section.
Those articles are actually displaying as designed. It's the regional transfer Talk. Just happens that the Sheffield Wednesday article and picture are the lead story. The appearance is defined by the keywords: Category.Championship.Competitions.Football.sport Category.Barnsley.England.Football.sport Category.BradfordCity.England.Football.sport Category.HuddersfieldTownFC.England.Football.sport Category.HullCity.England.Football.sport Category.LeedsUnited.England.Football.sport Category.Middlesbrough.England.Football.sport Category.RotherhamUnited.England.Football.sport Category.SheffieldUnited.England.Football.sport Category.SheffieldWednesday.England.Football.sport The site template designs have to work for the group, so not as simple as a single website design for the YP. There are hundreds of other titles. Regarding quality - See advertising revenue and share price. And yes, this all points to the arrival of the internet.
