Yorkshire CCC thrashed by an innings against Middlesex. Pathetic batting. We always seem to lose when we play them.

I think part of it was being made to bowl first when the weather was scorching hot. The commentary said the bowlers were towing their ******** on the first day and getting no help from the pitch of conditions. Of course that doesn't excuse the crap batting, but of the tables were turned I'd have expected Middlesex to do the same...

I was meant to be going yesterday but circumstances conspired against me. Quite glad now!

Yeah, it was a big toss to win. Apparently second day had loads of uneven bounce too, plus Bresnan and Leaning were out. We had an 18 year old on debut at 3. That said it's been another season where we're getting bailed out by the bowlers. It's a good job we've got Ballance.

I always think they deserve some leeway mind. Just the 4 players away with England this game, it's been 5 most of the season. And Travis Head isn't coming because Australia have called him up.

Lyth & Lees have been garbage for too long now, havent we got any better options for openers ?
Thats 3 years in a row now where we've just not been up for it away to Middlesex. But we are still handily placed to challenge for the title.

And what if Ballance gets an England call up?

Thats another argument altogether Jack, it annoys me that we're having to create 2 squads these days because of all the players we lost to Intl matches.
Did our constant lack of players because of this cost us winning the title again last season, or was it really just down to Middlesex being better ?

    Taking out of our squad
    Root
    Bairstow
    Rashid
    Wilely
    Plunkett
And potentially Ballance is not ideal and where does that leave the rest of the squad? Relying on a 39 year bowler to bail is out time after time is not healthy.

The form this season of Lyth Lees Leaning Hodd and Bresnan is also.of concern and the Aussie lad Handscome needs to start pulling his finger out.
