Says in paper this morning that Root and Bairstow won't play for Yorkshire in the championship run in, even though England's last game is tomorrow. Could this be anything to do with Andrew Strauss having played for Middlesex for thirteen years?

No, it's to give them a rest before the Bangladesh tour starts next month.

This could be the round of matches where we overtake Middlesex and reclaim top spot. Never known a first class county go 0 for 3 off the first five balls!

Things could go brilliantly for YCCC or awful.

MCCC only got one batting point against NCCC but the first innings between the two sides are quite even.

DCCC have not been great with the bat this season and even though they had a stormer of a start YCCC have kept in it and now could go through the middle and lower order quickly with a bit of hope..

Think YCCC will look at this morning and be disappointed with missing out on the fifth batting point.

At the moment they have caught up by 3 points on the batting points

Annoyed they can't use Bairstow for the rest of the season. Don't understand it. The ECB better not mess YCCC around with Rashid, he'll be massive fore the last two games. Plunkett and Willey are misses too. Plunkett more so because he's xfactor along with Rashid.

Whether Yorkshire win the league for the third time on the spin or not at least they have had a bloody good go at it given everything they have had to go through.

    Losing their overseas players

    The poor form of Gale

Having to consistently do without Root Bairstow Willey Plunkett Rashid and Ballance.

The injury at start of season to Sidebottom.

Still all to play for though.

I see what you're saying but some of it's not a surprise.

They don't seem to get the right oversea's and it may have cost them.

In no way being a cricket(yawn) fan, i just wondered how many players have Middlesex lost for the rest of the season.

They've lost some. Finn, roland jones, compton and maybe Malan in a T20 squad

Morgan of course but not sure how much he plays for MCCC now anyway. Don't think he plays any first class cricket.

None. Their first choice team is available at the moment. Their only guy in the England squad is Morgan and he doesn't play four day games for them.

Their current team has five players born overseas along with one who went there as a toddler and another who plays for Ireland. A token one player is actually from Middlesex!

Yorkshire but JG and MM can't and won't come out with excuses.

I'd imagine they've had root more than expected. Bairstow, Plunkett (if he plays the last two) about expected and Rashid maybe more too.

They didn't build in the winter. The lack of battings come back and bite them on the bum.

On cricket Forum's theirs talk of them going after a few bats men.

Duckett and Borthwick. Hopefully they pull out all the stops and get them and maybe another. Bowling okay, but getting on the old side. Let's hope Fisher will be avaidble next season along with the young bowler at Gloustshire and the alrounder at Essex to keep it fresh.

They need to keep Rafiq, even if he's a limited over specialist.

Not a touch of favouritism from the bufoons at Lords/MCC(ruling body) towards the club that plays at Lords surely.
