    Well I think you've hit the nail on the head. Of course it needs to be monitored or it will be abused just like previous concessions have.

    As for the 60 minute requirement, I suspect this it ensure the box office can cope on a match day. There are already large queues of people buying tickets for away games, forthcoming games etc and the queue is often still large right up to kick off. This is before the introduction of the this discount scheme.

    Not sure the relevance of the flash car but haven't the club got a couple of schemes to try and help soften the outlay of a season ticket?

    The club aren't trying to take the piss out of anyone - they are trying to survive in the championship with limited resources. It would seem to me that the objective of the £30 ticket is to ensure the maximum revenue from the away supporters at Oakwell.

    I do however wonder what impact it will have on the casual walk in fan though (if such things exist)

    Casual friend or family member at Chrimbo and other family get togethers maybe only once a season was £15/£20 a few seasons ago now £30.

    I used to buy these extras but I wont now.

    I'm in the same position with some off my family who live away they can only get to a few games each season. They certainly won't pay £30.

    Hang on though. BFC arent stoppping anyone spending money. They are simply saying we'll give you a discount but we need you to do the tinyest bit of forward planning in return and get there a little bit early or get the ticket ahead of time.
    There's none of us new to this sort of thing. Away tickets work in the same way. Some will be 4 quid cheaper this seaosn if you buy them at our box office before hand.

    Thank you everyone for your replies, especially Gally for contacting the club.

    It does disappoint me that using the 1912 membership is more difficult than advertised. I typically get to 4-5 home games a season, and thought that getting a reduction on admission prices would help tip the balance in favour of me attending a few more games. INeeding to get to the ground early or ordering tickets in advance is though likely to tip the balance back towards doing other things. We all have multiple demands on our time and money - it strikes me that BFC should make it as easy as possible for supporters to pay to go to Oakwell.

    It is not that we are short of empty seats in the ground.

    it is very easy to go to watch Barnsley take £30 go to a turnstile and pay. jobs a good en!
    If you want £5 off certain matchs pre book and collect them before hand. I really dont see the complaint.

    Football is expensive, players want silly money yet our club are still looking at ways to make it affordable.
    what is there to moan about? the club has asked something of it's fans to get money off, but at least they are offering money off!

    I find it quite sad that they would rather inconvenience the fans because they don't trust their own turnstile operators.

    It strikes me that this scheme is an attempt to get the home supporters to help rip-off the away supporters. There's nothing "innovative" about it - and it is now more expensive / inconvenient to be a "pay on the day" reds fan as a result.
