    Hey guys and girls

I posted a while ago asking what your opinion would be if a radio station covering Barnsley FC was launched. Well, it's here, and will launch this Friday and Saturday night!

It is an online station run by We Are Barnsley, and we aim to give regular updates on the Reds, interviews with players and the manager, and give opportunities for fans to phone-in and express their views.

This Friday night between 6 and 7pm we are playing our interview with Reds' boss Keith Hill and special guest David Preece will be with us in the studio ready to answer any of your questions. We also hope to talk to a member of the Reds' Premiership team from 97-98, although this is yet to be confirmed.

On Saturday night, after the game between 5.30 and 7pm, we will have live in our studio Bobby Hassell and ex-striker Bruce Dyer, who will be giving their thoughts on the game and ready to answer your questions!

Hope you all tune in!!! You can simply go to www.wearebarnsley.com/radio during those times. The station is already online but simply playing music.

To get more information on We Are Barnsley and to get more news, simply 'like' our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/wearebarnsley

Let me know you what you all think!!!

    YOU REDS!!!

It's not really a radio station if its online is it.

The strengh of the old radio station was that you could listen to it as an alternative to Radio Wednesday United in the car pre-match on the way to Oakwell.

    Just my humble observation like.

Appears to be doing more than just match commentary, which is a mantle that another station could have taken up but hasn't. Sounds like an excellent idea, but the proof will be in whether technically it works. I'll be tuning in expectedly hoping it does.

I assume there won't be any match commentary since Barnsley World have the rights?

I read it as tho there was no commentary, my post was more a pop at Matt who was perhaps having a pop at a new enterprise in his own field? [IMG]

Re: New radio station launch this weekend with Bobby Hassell, Keith Hill and David Pr

Not having a pop at all! I wish them all the best where, others have tried and failed since Oakwell AM closed down. It's just the wording seemed to advertise it as a unique enterprise. Radio volunteers are the salt of the earth and I genuinely hope things go well and that they get plenty of listeners. Sorry if my post seemed to smack of bitterness, that's definitely not the case.

We had a great radio station for 12 years before one person's selfishness spoiled things for it's many listeners.

Good luck to all at WAB.

Re: New radio station launch this weekend with Bobby Hassell, Keith Hill and David Pr

Thanks for the support guys. Unfortunately we won't have match day commentary as we don't have the license, but we will be trying to keep up-to-date with events and get lots of manager/player interviews.

Hope you all tune in and enjoy!!!

Our Premier League star from 97-98 has confirmed so will be on air tomorrow night at 6pm!

How many hours a day will be given to finding people's lost pets?

Cos if the Facebook page is anything to go by it'll probably be the most mind-numbingly boring station on the web.
