Ok so there werent many - and I will comment on the negatives in other threads but I did find a few positives

    1. Vas Te - huge impact as a sub - once he came on I believed we might actually score and we were unlucky not to

    2. The last 10 mins - we finally took hold and went for it - admittedly against 10 men but it was a real rousing finish and gave me some belief we arent already down.

3.Wiseman - defensively looked good (going forwards and crossing left for other threads)

4 RNL - along with Vas Te helped change a very poor team into one that was at least in the game

can anyone think of any more Positives -

yeah a management team that admits when things are not going well, not afraid to change game, and knows which players to substitute. hav'nt had that for a while.

The fact that we only lost 1 - 0

We did play very bad I admit, and there were some very poor performances. But I feel the reaction is a bit over the top. I have seen worse perfances over the last 4 years. We could even have statched a draw

    I remain blindly optimistic :)

    :)

Do you think he got the substitutions right on Tuesday?
I think he got the team selection/tactics wrong today. Robins was slated for playing 2 defensive midfielders at home, today we had Doyle and Addison plus Perkins who looks as though he wants to be in the middle , not out wide , then leaving Davies up front on his own.
This system is not working against the better teams in the league, it worked in pre-season because the opponents had not done any homework to counter it, Southampton knew just how we were going to play and came at us, never letting the REDS get any momentum going, we were very lucky to only be beaten by one goal. We could even have pinched a point we did not deserve at the death, but why wait to 90 mins were up before we actually went for it.

without doubt he got them wrong and i probably would have made the subs earlier.but he's not afraid to put it right(albeit a bit late) and he took the right players off in my opinion for the right players available on the bench. what i'm saying is he can see whats wrongand will change them round hopefully a bit quicker next time Robins and davy would've left it just to piss the fans off.

Erm Robins changed thigs early doors when he first took over. He seems to have a touch of the latter day Davey/Robins i.e. Waiting too long/not being more positive.

Davey and Robins were the best managers since Bassett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Neither had the crowd in raptures did they, possibly the 2 I have disliked the most.

Surely you enjoyed the season we got promoted more than last season?

yes i enjoyed the promotion season, i also enjoyed the cup run. but in terms of managers since bassett they were the only two capable of fielding a team to compete in this division. ritchie would have taken us back down no danger, yes he played decent football and yes the players would have run through a brick wall for him but he wouldn't have kept us up

It's only taken us 2 home games to realise how dog sh*te some of the team is and Hill

has now got his tactics very wrong for the second consecutive home game.

After the dire performance in the cup in midweek today was the 'reaction' game to make amends, the first home game of the season in front of our own support and what did the team look like..................

a set of amateurs who were light years behind the Saints.

At least we now know very early doors what the problem is, so Hill has plenty of time to put it right.

Hill talks a fantastic game on the radio but I want him to do his talking with the players on the pitch...he's bought them so he needs to put the rockets up their arses and quick sharp.....

Tuesday will be a fantstic opportunity for Hill and his players to show the support their bottle

How do you KNOW we would have gone down, it is impossible to KNOW! You can have an opinion that we would have gone down, or think we may have , but you dont KNOW, it is not a fact it is a guess, at best an educated guess, Also Cryne wanted Ritchie out the previous season, because he was all that was left from Ridsdale era.

Budmustang - Yes the positives are that after 3 competitive games Hill knows how toss

we are so he has plenty of time to sort it........

The negatives were the sh*te beer, crap hot dog and very low crowd becuase the way on Rowing and the marketing team at Jokewell have driven fans away.

I was warning people on this forum about Hill getting in ,ower league players and letting the like of Trippier and the lad from Chelsea go and I hope I'm wrong but already Hill is making excuses.

He's signed them and he has to sort it, Tuesday night we will see the true bootle of our manager and players.

If you thought it was bad Tuesday yesterday was totally unacceptable

    1. Agree 100%

    2. 10 men says it all.

    3. Looked the better of the lower league signings and a big improvement on Hassell.

    4. Did improve a little see 2.

we would've gone down because the players were,nt good enough ok so its my opinion but a valid one, ritchie wouldn't have brought the players we needed thats why shepherd went out and bought mcindoe.and it wasn't because ritchie was the only one from the ridsdale era the fact he said bfc would never again get in the premier lgue was a big factor.
