It's been a testing week for all concerned and I was trying to think of a way for the club to meet the fans expectations and vice versa.

The best I could come up with is a club charter, created by the fans but approved by the club. We all make suggestions as to what we expect the club to provide us as fans, e.g. Meet the fans on a monthly basis to discuss/dis-spell various rumours about the club. To provide an exciting matchday experience (not just on the pitch). I'm sure you get the drift.

The club could then also create a charter for the fans letting us know what they want from us, e.g. To sing your hearts out every game, to encourage others to come to the game with you etc...

Surely a scheme like this has legs? It'd help us to create a fan/club relationship to our club. It'll help us set out exactly what a Barnsley fan is and what our club stands for.

The club had a charter but it isn't worth the paper its printed on. The club changed it to suit themselves. super tyke will tell you all about it.

Hopefully they will take the results of the survey on board - judging by the entrance tune they haven't listened to the fans.

    You rang?

Indeed the club had a customer charter which they broke (they said that tickets for cup games would be no higher than for league games but put the price of the man utd cup game up) and when fans raised the issue on here and complained the club simply reworded the charter to allow what they had done. No explanation, no apology, nothing. They simply reworded the charter and in my opinion tried to pretend that it had never said anything different (eg they left the last amended date as months ago instead of conceding that it had been amended).

The supporters trust edited their copy without so much as a peep too by the way I believe.

    Just in response to LiverpoolRed.

The survey only closed last week and the club will be receiving the results shortly. A bit of patience.

    Re: You rang?

People have talked about changing things for years at the club - supporters club bar , theme tune etc but not much has changed and the club is in no financial position at the moment to act on the survey

It wouldn't but people e-mailed the club and put messages on the official facebook page but they were ignored

    Yes

I would like to charter a plane to Cancun.
A plane full of dirty bints.
I would hope the club are thinking along the same lines.

Tell that to Everton, they have had Z Cars theme for how long?

It is a tune that is associated with them, just like Timerider is with us.
Do you really prefer the ****ty Rocky thing?

I think its would be good to look at that fans charter again but as ST already pointed out it's not much use if it's slyly changed when something doesn't suit.

Wolves have a great system where they have regular fans parliaments and get representatives from all the different fans organisations/trust/forums and meet up with the staff/directors on a regular basis.

That would be a great idea; something we could raise through the supporters trust perhaps?

The Supporters Trust didn`t even acknowledge that the Customer Charter(a charter in which they had input) had been reworded to fit the situation at the time ,so therefore, not looking after the supporters interests.

This is the first time on here that Gally has wrote anything that hints at what happened and its been discussed on here many times. Owen is another that defends the Supporters Trust when criticised but the silence was deafening from them quarters. Almost 2 years ago now jeez doesn`t time fly.
