Has it run its course or is it getting diluted to death? Is 6 nights a week too much with undoubtably the same group of people phoning in every other day? Would a programme on Friday be enough just to give people the build up to the weekends action? Walker and Bennett wern't the best presenters and now those who follow them seem quite bland in their approach. Also don't get me started on the "massive 2" bias.
I had it on last night and it was the same old ****e Donny fans going on about being the best footballing team in the championship Wednesday fans saying they're bigger than Utd Utd fans saying they're bigger than Wednesday and Rotherham fans saying they're bigger than everything, and that they don't need the money and Seth Bennett is a **** for starting rumors about ALF. Correct me if i'm wrong, but how can it be a rumor that Wednesday are interested in Le Fondre, if they've actually had a bid turned down for him. He was getting a bit of unfair stick last night was Seth. Then their was the blunts fan who got a bit agressive, "Why would he want to go to Wednesday, he's a championship quality player, he should go to Donny or Barnsley, why do you want him to go to the pigs Seth." After explaining Donny have no money and we'll only buy if we sell, the Blunt then said, "I think he'll come to Bramhall lane", and I thought, I thought he said a championship club. It makes me so angry that i'm struggling to find the energy to put it on.
They haven't even realised that 'Judd' the Barnsley fan is a wind up He must've been ringing in a couple of seasons now usually on setdys. last week he left them a clue with a references to Kes. I think he's a Blunt as he sometimes slags Fowls off and I'm sure I can detect a dee darr accent.
I do enjoy it on my way home from work but the Sheffield bias is pretty obvious as much as Seth tries to deny it. To an extent we do control the caller aspect of the show however what really hacks me off is the number of live games the us and the other regional clubs get when compared to the two league one giants. That is completely controlled and really out of order that the controllers of the station show so much bias. Personally I prefer Andy Giddings to Seth and Rob.
Well, I have to admit that I do really enjoy it. I love that quiet time of an hour when hubby is out, tea is prepared and I can settle down for time alone and listen to the show. If I miss it I always use the 'Listen Again' option. Someimes it really winds me up, it's unfair, biased and completely OTT at times and we do get a very unfair coverage compared to the 2 Sheffield teams. Some of the callers now are like old friends... Brian "I'm telling you now, you heard it here first" the Blade, Alan "Yes, good evening Seth", Judd, James, Peter, It's only a laugh and I would be gutted if it went live only once a week. It's our region's phone in and it should stay as it is.
Very true Tina. He's a pillock but the show would not be the same without Brian the Blade - a true Football Heaven legend.
It has been great for a number of years but I don't like some of the changes that have been put in over the last 6 months or so. Whitey alludes to the Seth monologues in another post (Rob S does them as well) that Seth puts at the end of a call, he's not interacting with the caller just having his say whenever he wants. Also I don't know if they still do it but after matchday they put the goal commentary to "appropriate" music which is usually s/h/i/t. The number of callers has dropped a little as well, don't know if thats down to Seth and Co. I miss Paul Walker even though he's a Blade (Seth too) but I think he does the morning shows now.
Paul from rotherham, count the wotchamacallits. Ive been doing it a few years and sometimes, when Rotherham have had a bad result he can get through 12 or 13. the record is 23.
