I got the impression that he is more sick of being asked by Radio Sheffield about bringing in new players, not by supporters, I don't think that was a pop at us. The 1997 comments are a bit bizarre though, has anyone really seriously mentioned being promoted this season? I couldn't really understand why he brought that up.

Not that it bothers me too much. Keep getting results like the one today, or the one last week, he can say what he likes for me :D

I've just listened to it and dont have any real problem with it

I think he is a bit sensitive to comparisons with previous years but his analysis of the game was pretty fair as were his comments on our players

my bigger criticism would be possibly he over talked himself and the club up before the season started and is now back tracking - it sounds like he has no money to spend and he seems to be criticising the expectations of the fans that he helped raise

I remember alot of supporters disliked Danny Wilson when he first started at the club and looked what he did.

For "A CLUB THAT'S GOING NOWHERE!!!!" I thought it was a decent result, actually.

It's really sad that this manager is now dishonouring the manager and players that gave us our finest hour. That was a manager, let's not forget, who assembled a side to gain us promotion to the top tier at a cost of less than £1M. A manager who is now revitalising a tired-looking Blunts side and converting them into promotion contenders. "I'm sick of hearing about 1997!" Well really, buster? Do me a favour! When you aim at nothing, you usually hit it. He's decrying what was achieved last season. Will this side put five past Leeds? No way. Three goals in six competitive games, one of those scored by the opposition. I'm not saying we should be promotion contenders - far from it. But bottom line - this is an entertainment business. I don't like the idea that we should regard ourselves as serial losers who might just punch above our weight and survive. What are we - the new Scunthorpe or something?

It's only an entertainment business if we're winning. You might see us lose 5-4 each week and it might be entertaining. But we all know that is not what we want.

    1-0 to us is better.

For Mr Hill it's a results business, and so it should be.

    He hasn't decried our past.

Though he ought not to insult our intelligence by making it seem as though he's the only one who knows that we're statistically destined to hover around the trapdoor of this league

In today's interview he praised the fans at today's game.

Really? And for some that's still not enough to stop them criticising him. I don't think Chris Corke had as much criticism as Keith Hill.

Having listened to the interview most of it seems pretty positive, but he thinks we need more precision and greater belief when going forward. Fair enough. Pleased with the clean sheet and defensively we were sound. The stuff about having no money to spend and being the only one who appreciates that fact is clearly a dig at the media who constantly question him about further moves in the transfer market. Didn't really understand the stuff about people constantly going on about last season, the season before and 1997 making him feel sick...who are these people? Strange, but 10 times more entertaining than Davey or Robins were. Hill's interviews always get a reaction and some kind of talking point, which is all to the good in an increasingly bland, boring media world full of drab cliches and predictable statements of the bleeding obvious from the likes of Steve Claridge...

I thought in Fridays interview he was trying to be more conciliatory saying football was his life and his family understood that ,as opposed to the post Reading interview where he made it sound like he was doing community service. The problem is every time he says the fans are great he goes on to criticise them ,what he's going on about 97 for ,I don't know,I haven't seen anyone saying we should be challenging for promotion . Barnsley fans will always talk about 97 as it was one of if not THE greatest hour in BFC history, but we still talk about 1912 and Harry Tufnell !! 97 is the dream, an aspiration , we know its improbable, it was in 97 but fans can dream . 97 should be an inspiration to Hill not a negative. One things for sure ,you won't get Keith Hill dressing up as Santa at Xmas

What if we win 1-0, but your uncle Keegan finds a nice half eaten pie (with plenty of meaty chunks left) in the stands at half time- would he still boo then?

You did that the whole season long, how come he's a villain for doing the same?

Not that I think he is decrying last season at all, I'm just intrigued as to how it's fine for you to do it, but not for Keith Hill.
