for them that don't like him now......

....can you imagine how insufferable he'll be when he has proved he can also walk the walk.....you'll really hate him then.

i like keith hill (i Think)
his job is to win matches/ not lose matches/ not get us relegated. Period
Because of this, we might not be pretty at times but i am SURE he is completely aware of this, but he has a job to do
Must be hard to carry out his job mission, with the fans wanting us to play like barcelona, and a reported budget of emley
I think he's a bit bored of having to justify himself to fans etc all the time, which is understandable
On the flip side i think a large majority of fans have been on board for years and cannot be pillocked
Time will tell, but i sincerely believe come what may keith hill will be with us for at least a couple of years and i dont think its a bad thing

I have listened again to his interview after reading the generally bad reaction to it on here. I could see little wrong with it the first time I listened, and I find little too iritate me after the second listening. His so called attack upon supporters is no more than an attempt to lower expectations because he feels that those inflated expectations are having a bad effect on players' morale, and therefore performance. I find it difficult to reconcile the fact that some people who hand out the abuse on here have such thin skins when some mild criticism is directed towards them in return. And gentlemen, you are not customers. Customers have no interest whatsoever in the trading success or otherwise of the traders that they patronise. You are supporters who are supposed to be supporting. I suppose that it is too much to expect you to support through bad times as well as good.
Having said all of that, Mr Hill does make comments more for the effect that it will have on his teams' performance, with little regard for accuracy or truth. My advice to everyone would be to take everything with a generous pinch of salt and judge him on the performance of the team and not on any other basis. If you want to fall out with him, there will be every opportunity during the comming months on that basis alone.

I'm hoping most of the criticism will amount to nothing more than a storm in a tea cup when viewed over the whole season.

    What about Flitcroft
Surely the mass opinion on Hill, whilst his copilot goes scot free, says something about the integrity of the guy
I heard from a man who knows nowt, that hill and croft are on same wages, as they are a double act
I think its commendable on hills character

Totally agree Dave - and agree with the others who are not in the "anti" brigade.
This guy could bring us the success we all crave for, and it would be a travesty if he came on here to look at some of these comments. You have so put it into perspective.
If you are reading this Keith, then take note.
My fear when he was appointed was that the fans would lose patience early doors and that he would lose patience with the fans and that he'd leave. I think part of him must regret coming here because of the fans - hence his reaction; which is somewhat immature given the game he is in.
However he is clearly ambitious and walking out on us would not help his cv. So in the hope that he does stay and is motivated to do well here..............
He has a vision of Team Barnsley and we should support him in trying to achieve that. OK - he likes to shoot his mouth of. So what? It makes life a bit more interesting than having to listen to the usual banalities from the managerial robots we have to put up with these days.
He's challenging us to THINK...and any one of us who has a thinking brain will sit back and consider and see some sense in what he's saying about the "lets have it now cos I aint got the time to wait" morons who populate society these days. aka .....morons... aka looters etc.
He's only telling us the truth. He is creating debate and that is a good thing. I listened to his interview this evening and didn't find his references to previous years at the club disrespectful; untimely mebbe but ultimately not a million miles from the truth.
I'd love to meet with him one-to-one and have a good old natter with him. My main message to him would be thus:

"Draw a line under the booing; be strong and understand it is the minority. Show us your mettle and be dignified. Please thank the fans when they do show support - like the people who went away to Reading and Millwall. They deserve it. Strive to create Team Barnsley and continue to tell us the truth. Be optimistic too and please, please, recognise that, as true fans, we pay to watch and support but also to dream. Fans like us do understand the harsh realities but we still dream about better days ahead. Don't deny us the dream. Play your part in helping turn the dream into our new reality Keith. "

    I don't understand him

    Can't fathom him at all.

He spent the entire summer bigging up himself, the new signings, the team and the club. He came in like the new messiah and told us we'd never have it so good. In short, he went out of his way to build up expectations.

A few games in to the season and he hasn't stopped berating the fans for having such high expectations. Apparently we haven't been listening to what dire straights we're in and anyone dreaming of success is just deluded.

I don't understand that kind of behaviour at all. I think he's been entirely disingenuous.

No idea if he'll make a good manager or not, although I think he's got his work cut out with the squad he's assembled, but I haven't been impressed with the man thus far.

What I can't understand is why he continues to berate the fans.

He raised expectations when he came, we looked at what he did for Rochdale and believed the hype he surrounded himself with.
he talked himself up and pointed to his successes at Rochdale.
The booing at the home games was out of place, as a fan, it made me very uncomfortable, but I've heard it hundreds of times before with different managers and surely, Hill is no different. Those same fans booing will be back next week cheering the team on and whilst I'm not condoning the boos in any way, that's how some fans express their feelings.
How does he know what people are saying about him unless he reads football message forums? If he does, then maybe it's time to give it a rest as the views expressed on these forums represent a minority.
I think he's got off to a bad start where the fans are concerned and he now needs to stop having a go at the fans in a 'tit for tat' situation he seems to create after every interview, stop moaning about lack of money -( he knew the remit when he signed up), stop moaning about the small squad we have and the injuries and just get on with the job of managing Barnsley Football Club.
I want to read about the Club I love not about the Manager week in, week out.
This is Barnsley Football Club and it's bigger and better than any Manager that may come in for an interim period and manage.
He accepted the job as a challenge to manage successfully in the Championship and as a step up for himself, now just get on with it and try and do the best job you can with the players you have assembled or inherited.
    That's all.
