And don't appreciate Hill's honest but up front talking on the subject.

I find this very intriguing given that most Barnsley folk are very straight talking themselves, I thought everyone would welcome a manager that told fans as it was rather than go round the houses making excuses why we lost:confused:

I'm not in denial about our budget situation, but I'm also not in denial about my own budget situation which means that I might have to reconsider what I spend close to £400 a year on if the best I can look forward to is scraping clear of relegation each season.

I'm hoping that Hill hasn't come to a quick decision that entertaining football will get us relegated and him the sack and go back to the rubbish served up last season. I'd rather get relegated playing open football than mid talbe dribble.

Who is in denial? I dont know any one that thinks we have any money. The only person I have heard talking about it is Hill and his disciples blaming other fans for not accepting the fact we have no money!

Given that Hill mentions our budget situation every time he gives an interview I dont see how anyone can be in denial about the situation, as I see it the budget thing keeps being mentioned by Hill almost on weekly basis these days and its getting tiring, yes Keith I get we are skint, yes I get it that if we get beat you will come out with the same comments week after week, yes I realise you are the best manager we have ever had and we ar elucky to have you and we should all get real and stop going on about 1997.... personally I couldnt care less if we are skint or rich, i just want to be entertained, I wasn't under Robins and I dont think I will be under Hill... as mentioned already in this thread I may have to consider my own budget situation if the entertainment is again lacking this season....

If you think he is being honest now then surely you must also accept that you think he was lying to us in pre season and that don rowing lied to us during the close season as well. Both cant be true.

Completely agree about the entertainment, I almost gave up this season after the rubbish last season but I will give Hill a little longer than a couple of games to make my opinion on the current season.

He's right though I haven't heard ANY fans claiming that we have got money and yet what I do hear on a very regular basis is Keith Hill complaining that fans think we have money. Which fans think that we do? Not ANY of the fans I speak to thats for sure.

Money. Don Rowing told us that we were not as skint as fans believed. He said that we shouldn't worry as our financial situation isn't bad at all.

Don Rowing also told us that we are going to be spending only what we can afford and will be operating to the leagues financial ruling which we all know about. he said that we shouldnt worry though because we were already within the football leagues budget/rules (ie theres no need for a spending cut). He went on to point out that we had got new improved sponsorship deals which surely means we have MORE money. No mention of cuts and financial crisis at all.

Have you not read the rest of the post? He said that we would have past the tests LAST year (ie no financial input from anyone else such as cryne). If we past it last year with all the big signings and such like then SURELY we must have MORE money to spend this year after selling shackell and increasing our sponsorship.

So looking at the post I can't expect a couple of decent loan signings that I were expecting in the few weeks because they are low priority. We weren't going to spend silly money on signings no matter what the post says but sign players with potential to make money on them and build from the income.

Let's not be in any doubt - our budget situation is SELF-IMPOSED. We are not required to abide by the new financial rules until next season, at the earliest. By doing so a year early we may have fatally compromised our ability to remain competitive in this division.

So would you prefer the club to ignore the rule coming in force next season and spend spend spend only to sell sell sell next reason because the club has a shortfall.
Mark my words there are a lot of clubs hanging on the edge of the abyss financially as it stands and not just your smaller clubs cut some big house hold names.
Birmingham are a court case away from going up **** creek.
Leicester city are chucking every penny they have at going up this season they fail they go up **** creek.
Coventry have been fire fighting administration for the last two seasons
    Watford's the same.
Ipswich made a loss of thirteen million and although they have got a large fee for wickham they are chucking money and wages about to try and get promoted this season.
Bristol citys wage bill is more than their turnover.
West hams owners are putting twenty million each to cover the short fall.
Doncaster are running at a loss and their crowds are dwindling.
Next season is going to be an eye opener for both clubs and players. And if hmrc win the test case expect a club or two to be forced into bankruptcy
