Just got back from the match tonight, I am outraged at the way I was belittled because of the fact I am a pensioner and have limited mobility issues. on my arrival at the Beckett Stand I asked the Female turnstyle attendant if it would be possible to use this entrance to gain access to the east stand lower, thus avoiding having to climb stairs, her sarcastic retort was "no but nice try anyway" why do they have to be so bombastic in their manner. Manners cost nothing.
That's just not on. Reading stuff like this makes my blood boil. Maybe some people do "try it on", but there are much more polite ways of saying no. Maybe it's worth contacting the club to tell them where and when it happened. I'm sure there are plenty other people out there (hopefully some with half-decent manners) who would be queuing up for a part time job at the Well.
Maybe I've got it wrong, so just to clarify Are you suggesting the turnstile operator should be sacked for this incident?
Re: Maybe I've got it wrong, so just to clarify i would'nt want anyone to lose thier job, maybe at thier induction meeting explain civility to them after all are we not the customers that help keep this club afloat. If you went into a shop and had this type of response would you shop ther again.
Re: Maybe I've got it wrong, so just to clarify The turnstile operator needs retraining - and the club need to review their existing training programme if it's turning out disrespectful people as Jumper describes. And if after retraining there were any further complaints of rudeness against her, yes, I'd sack her.
Re: Maybe I've got it wrong, so just to clarify Maybe if people just went throught he correct turnstile there would be no need for this thread.....it is written above each turnstile you know..... and if there is a problem then maybe apply to the club beforehand for special access....not just expect preferential treatment on the day..... it's not just 'all about you' as Mcfly might say. I do hope this clarifies the position.
Re: Maybe I've got it wrong, so just to clarify It does not give the attendant the right to be as they were. Surely common sense should prevail here. This football club needs fans to return, not pushed away. Good impressions are lasting and not forgotten. A bit of compassion and respect towards a disabled person would go a long way to promoting the club in the form of showing it cared for its supporters. The attendant should be re-trained in customer relations. Its unacceptable conduct
Re: Maybe I've got it wrong, so just to clarify Nah...the club quite clearly don't give a t@ss..... or else they wouldn't be charging £30 to watch would they?.......and you don't honestly think they have a 'training policy' for gate people do you...how naive of you.
Re: Maybe I've got it wrong, so just to clarify I've seen arrogance shown by club stewards at many away ground towards visiting fans. On more than one occasion it has caused disorder and the odd scrap. The saying "you throw a snowball, you'll get one back" always springs to mind. The golden rule is... you treat someone the way you'd like to be treat back. Not a hard thing to do if you tried hard enough. When people pay good hard earned money then surely they don't need hassles like this. I will agree with you on one point which i do often think about is....Do BFC give a toss about its supporters when they charge £30 per game given the current recession.
Re: Maybe I've got it wrong, so just to clarify We agree then.....BFC is there for itself / owners etc ....not the supporters. The sooner everyone realises this the better.
Re: Maybe I've got it wrong, so just to clarify Apparently so. The club needs to listen to its fans. Without its fans there would be no BFC. End of the day ...we love our club. It would be nice for them to show a better overall attitude to us. That means from the top to the bottom. The club should value and welcome the feed back from people like Jumper, you and everyone connected in following this club new or old. We are all equals and should be treat just like that.
Let's not brand all the staff with the same brush. http://v2.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthr...t-hitlers&p=1042976&mode=threaded#post1042976
