If we carry on putting great performances in like todays will fans swallow cat "a" prices and get down to't well?
No £30 is far too expensive for a working class community like Barnsley..... Cracking game but too dear i am afraid
are prices cast in stone till end of season or can they change them.usually that game attracts between 12/14000.
Only 8600 Tarn fans in the ground today - if that doesn't send a message to DR & PC about how wrong they have got there pricing policy then I don't know what will...... Although the vocal support today given to the team was fantastic, form first whistle they backed them. They are so out of touch with the supporters its unreal, they have proper dropped a b*llock. Excellent performance today by the Reds and big praise to Hill his staff and the players, their goalie was man of the match and kepth them in the game. We are still crying out for a centre forward and maybe Mr Howard.
No, it's far too much. I think they should revise all of the Cat A games down to Cat B, with the exception of Leeds who deserve to be rinsed as much as possible.
As much as I enjoyed today's game A 1-1 draw isn't going to get supporters flooding back, not at £30 a pop. Win some games 3,4 and 5 nowt and get the team up near the play-offs, then we'll start to see an increase in attendances.
£30 quid is a total joke hence only 8,600 reds fans in the ground today Barnsley is not a London based cclub where £30 isn't thought to be a lot of coin - Cryne and Rowing need a reality check as they have totally lost the plot this year with the CAT A pricing policy. 2,000 home fans have been lost already from Oakwell this season
It isn't going to happen the Club Catigory A has killed off the home support as I have been saying it would all along. It was the hot topic around where I was sat in the two home games I attended and as I said in an earlier post there were plenty of Red shirts at Corton Wood this afternoon. I doubt it will change anything at the Club they pay lip service to the fans and carry on on their own sweet way.

We have been through all this before. Read previous posts on this topic. If they charged £1 membership and let you buy your ticket on the gate it may have worked for the Club. But no they want a photograph and want you to have bought your ticket an hour before kick off. Anyone with half a brain could have seen the drop in the home attendance coming. The Club have alienated its pay on the Day fan base and a 1-1 draw at home isn't going to get them back. The big crunch will come in a month or so when most games will be £30.
8600..Reds fans.. I also think the weather will play a part with the...pay on the gate-rs...if only 8600 can be attracted in early sept...how many will turn up in mid-winter ?
Comments on here shows that the club is poorly managed from the top......we need..... .............another owner Thats not taking owt away from what PC has done..........but time has moved on and we need new pwners and new management at the top
They'd turn up if we draw Chelsea, Manure or Liverpool in the cup; they'd find the brass then. Funny that isn't it.
We can all find money for special occasions Once a season you can get £30. But some people can't be doing that 23 times a season.
Re: We can all find money for special occasions I appreciate money is tight but to see so many empty seats is tragic. If only a small percentage of the stay away fans came back it would make a difference to us. I dont expect 20,000 every week, not as things are at the minute, but surely 13,000 ish on average is not too much to expect.
Over the past few seasons The home attendance at Oakwell has rarely, if ever, gone below 10,000. We've been pretty much crap whoever has been in charge, be it Ritchie, Davey or Robins but the support has remained steady. This season it looks like the home attendance is down to just above 8,000, so what's changed? The obvious change is that the majority of games are now £30 and I think many people think that is just too much. I know you can get one of these card things, but then you've got to mess about getting a photo done and buying your match tickets in advance when people just don't want to do that. They want to turn up and pay their money. And it won't just affect category A matches. Once you've got out of the habit of going you'll not turn up for the category B matches either. I think BFC knew most people wouldn't bother with these cards. Just like nobody bothered with Ridsdale's bond scheme. They knew most folk would think they were more hassle than they're worth. What they gambled on is that the fans would come anyway, pay the extra brass and the club would make more money. What has happened is we've lost over 2,000 fans, a fifth of the support. I'm in the fortunate position of being able to afford a season ticket, but a few years ago I wasn't. I used to pay match by match. But there's no way on earth I could have done that if it was £30 per match. £30 is a weekly food shop when you're living on smart price beans and value mince. It's money to your gas bill. It's the once every two month night out you can have with the Mrs. BFC have dropped a right bollock with their pricing and it's come back to bite them on the arse. Very disappointing.
